For those who may want an early week ride before the extreme cold hits later this week... We found a pretty large water hole that opened up either Saturday night or Sunday morning on trail S70. Rode the trail on Sat and had no problem, today not so lucky.... It's located about 1/2 mile north of Rt. 23, off of Van Court Rd, southwest of the lake. Heading north, you go through a somewhat swampy area, follow a bend around to the left, and further up is the stream crossing which is now a pretty large water hole, just before you duck into the woods. The hole is normally just a fairly small stream and is usually pretty easy to cross. GPS coordinates (thanks to the fella who found the hole for us!): N42 47.54.8 W75 02.18.1 You can sneak around it for the most part but if someone didn't know it was there it would swallow your sled and at least your feet. It's been nice having snow here at home, great job and thank you to everyone who has worked to get trails ready! |
