![]() the `` BITTER end It’s not our world anymore, Jack! You can't change this. We can’t do anything. We just have to save those who still have a bit of humanity in them. It’s our fault. Those aliens teamed up with whatever the hell came out of the darkness…….and caused this end of the world state. We have to fight to save those of us who are still normal! Those zombies….if those things get them on their side I know we’ll stand no chance. We’re knee deep in shit, Jack, and it might actually be our fault this time. ---- Gwen Cooper, day one of the bitter end. ![]() Gwen’s right. This is not our world anymore. It’s theirs. Whatever they may be. The aliens, the demons, the vampires and the zombies. There are too many of ‘them’ now and not enough of us. There has been evidence throughout Torchwood's history that aliens did want to take over our planet. But what they didn’t count on was that demons, the things of supernatural myths, wanted the exact same thing. So then a group of aliens, not so different from humans in appearance made a pact with demons. The plan was set in motion and a virus created that would bring the human race down to its knees. It was a virus that would hit the mobile phone network all over the world. The virus was alien in origin and had the life span of twelve hours. Not long, but enough to make over 65% of the human population into what Owen calls ‘the living dead’. They were zombies - violent and rage filled zombies. It happened so quickly on a January day in 2008 and that was how it started. The first few days there was just pure violence between those of their kind and the humans who were unlucky enough to be in their path. It was what the aliens and demons wanted, because now they had free reign to turn the world into whatever they wanted it to be. Sharing. Of course, the demons weren’t going to be sharing long. And so, it started. England was the worst hit country and Torchwood, knowing everything there was to know about aliens were stuck. They knew nothing of this new evil. So Jack knew he had to call in a favour from some old friends. The Winchesters had done Jack some favours when he had been in the states last and they said they’d help again if ever he needed. With a quick email, the boys said they’d get on a flight and had straight over. At least some planes were still airborne. What Jack hadn’t counted on was the demons had wanted just this. The Winchesters away from the states where the damage seemed less severe. It was a trap of course. The demons and other creatures of darkness wanted revenge on the Winchesters for causing them pain and also mainly to Dean for getting himself out of the pact he made with the Crossroads Demon. So now it was set. War was only around the corner. The zombies, now mindless, but beginning to gain back their speech and some sense of personality were being rounded up and trained to fight and hunt using their telepathic powers. This is how it starts. The real fight to the end of the world. Will the Torchwood gang, along with the Winchesters and their allies, be able to rid the world of its pain or with this really be the beginning of the bitter end? canons | rules | main plot | sub plots | really useful info links |
