A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... SITH-REPUBLIC WAR RISE OF THE SITH Thirty-Seven years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the New Galactic Republic verges on collapse. DARTH SHADOW, the new Dark Lord of the Sith, has unleashed his invincible and infinite Sith armada upon an unsuspecting galaxy. Shadow's war of conquest has crippled the Jedi Order, leaving them scattered and vulnerable as countless Knights fall in battle, and many more swear allegiance to the new Sith Master. As the war continues on, the Jedi realize that there is more to this Sith Uprising than meets the eye. In the skies above the Inner Rim world of Onderon, a Jedi battle fleet engages the forces of Darth Shadow in a desperate effort to halt the Sith's galactic domination.... It is 41 ABY. Thirty-seven years ago, the Battle of Endor took place It was one of the largest and most important engagements of the Galactic Civil War fought by the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. It would signify the decline of the Empire upon the death of Palpatine, and the destruction of Death Star II, as well as key Imperial personnel. The Rebels celebrated during the night, an event occurring on thousands of planets across the Galaxy. They had accomplished their goals (somewhat). The Emperor was dead, the Empire had been dealt a massive blow. During this, Luke Skywalker saw the ghosts of his father, signifying the fall of Darth Vader and the redemption of Anakin Skywalker. He was also with Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. As for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, they would go on to form the Alliance of Free Planets and, soon thereafter, the New Republic, which would carry on as a strong member of the galaxy. Then, in 11 ABY, Luke Skywalker moved to Yavin IV and settled there, forming the New Jedi Order. This new order went on to be, once again, the protectors and guardians of the Republic. The Jedi numbers have also increased to more than 100 thousand. Things move back to normal. The Galactic Senate has elected a new Chacellor, Leia Organa Solo. People move back on with their lives as free people. Everything seems to be in order... for now. Before the fall of the Empire, Jolan Elengis, a Hand of the Emperor, made his escape from the battle. He set course for anywhere that could hide him from the Rebels. That is when Jolan found the Unknown Regions, a region that held the planet of Lehon, and the rubble of the giant automated shipyard, the Star Forge. Jolan set his landing for the shipyard, but the protective force field was still around the Forge and made him crash land on Lehon. Once he was on the planet, he was captured by the Rakata, an ancient race thought to be extinct. Jolan made an agreement for his freedom when he spoke to the Elders of the Rakata; in exchange for his freedom and a NEW Star Forge, Jolan would have to destroy the Black Rakata, Rakatans who betrayed the Elders. After doing so, Jolan gained access to the Temple of the Ancients. Inside, he deactivated the force field around the newly rebuilt Star Forge. Jolan also found something worth more than the Star Forge. A holocron to be exact. Holocrons are small cubes into which Jedi (and Sith) program knowledge. This holocron happens to contain the dark teachings of Darth Revan, the infamous former-Dark Lord of the Sith. From what Jolan could determine, Revan must have put this holocron in the Temple of the Ancients years before his 'death' and redemption as a Jedi. The holocron also contained a message made by Revan. In the message, he states, I am Darth Revan, Dark Lord of the Sith. Those who use the dark side are also bound to serve it. To understand this is to understand the underlying philosophy of the Sith. The dark side offers power for power's sake. You must crave it. Covet it. You must seek power above all else, with no reservation or hesitation. The Force will change you. It will transform you. Some fear this change. The teachings of the Jedi are focused on fighting and controlling this transformation. That is why those who serve the light are limited in what they accomplish. True power can come only to those who embrace the transformation. There can be no compromise. Mercy, compassion, loyalty: all these things will prevent you from claiming what is rightfully yours. Those who follow the dark side must cast aside these conceits. Those who do not—those who try to walk the path of moderation—will fail, dragged down by their own weakness. Those who accept the power of the dark side must also accept the challenge of holding on to it. By its very nature the dark side invites rivalry and strife. This is the greatest strength of the Sith: it culls the weak from our order. Yet this rivalry can also be our greatest weakness. The strong must be careful lest they be overwhelmed by the ambitions of those working beneath them in concert. Any master who instructs more than one apprentice in the ways of the dark side is a fool. In time, the apprentices will unite their strengths and overthrow the master. It is inevitable; axiomatic. That is why each master must have only one student. This is also the reason there can only be one Dark Lord. The Sith must be ruled by a single leader: the very embodiment of the strength and power of the dark side. If the leader grows weak another must rise to seize the mantle. The strong rule; the weak are meant to serve. This is the way it must be. My time here is ended. Take what I have taught you and use it well. Jolan used all this information to his advantage. He studied every single teaching that was in the holocron, and he took Revan's words to thought. He ceased being Jolan Elengis, and became Darth Shadow, Dark Lord of the Sith. Jolan, or better yet, Darth Shadow, created a large Sith armada, consisting of more than 100,000 ships. This armada, this empire was soon named the "new" Order of the Sith Lords by Darth Shadow. He also secretly recruited numerous Jedi, that had fallen down the Dark side, Dark Jedi. But, listening to the words of Revan's holocron, he went on the reestablish the guiding principle of the Rule of Two originally set by Darth Bane. Shadow trained only one apprentice, Darth Riyan. As for his army, he also recruited numerous Imperial Remnant soldiers and officers. Although he denies it, Shadow had truly become one of most greatest Sith Lords in the history of the Sith. This can only mean trouble for the Jedi… no, the Republic in general. In order to try and stop this new Sith threat, Luke Skywalker and the Jedi Order must join the Republic and stop Darth Shadow once and for all. Will the Jedi prevail? Will theSith once more rule the galaxy? What will be the outcome? Only time, and the Will of the Force, will tell… This is truly the Legacy of the Sith... NO... the Legacy of Revan. |
