Power Name: Superhuman Strength
Power Type: Physical
Power Description: Henry’s physical mutation allows him to lift up to about 500 lbs above his body weight without strain. He can begin to life heavier objects but would need help or it would strain his body.

Power weaknesses: Once he passes his limit it begins to strain and severely weaken him.

Power Name: Superhuman Endurance, Agility, Speed, Durability, Jumping
Power Type: Physical
Power Description: He possesses the agility of a great ape and the acrobatic prowess of an accomplished circus aerialist. His physiology is durable enough to allow him to survive a three-story fall by landing on his feet without suffering any broken bones or sprains. The Beast's legs are powerful enough to enable him to leap approximately 15 feet high in a standing high jump, and around 25 feet in a standing broad jump. He can also run on all fours at approximately 40 miles per hour for short sprints.

The Beast can crawl up brick walls by wedging his fingers and toes into the smallest cracks and applying a vice-like grip on them, as well as walk a tightrope with minimal effort. He is adept in performing complicated sequences of gymnastics such as flips, rolls, and springs, and can also walk on his hands for many hours. Further, his manual and pedial dexterity are so great that he can perform multiple tasks such as writing with both hands at once or tie knots in rope with his toes.

Power weaknesses: Though he has great agility and speed he is a giant moving blue target. The more energy he uses for his agility the more tired and slower he gets. Making him easier to hit or take down.

Friends: Scott Summers, Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Ororo Munroe, Warren Worthington III, Moira

Enemies: Erik Lehnsherr

History: While working at a nuclear power plant, Norton McCoy was exposed to massive amounts of radiation that affected his genes. As a result, Norton's son, Henry "Hank" McCoy, was born a mutant who showed the signs of his being different from birth with his unusually large hands and feet. As a youth, Hank's freakish appearance was the subject of much ridicule from his classmates, earning him the nickname of "Beast". However, one classmate named Jennifer came to know the real Hank after he began tutoring her in biology. On the night of the junior prom, Jennifer insisted that Hank accompany her as her date, and stood up for him after he was teased.

In his senior year, Hank's superhuman agility and athletic prowess earned him recognition as a star football player. During one game, Hank easily stopped a trio of robbers who were attempting to escape across the football field. Hailed as a local hero he rode out the rest of the year on the high. Full rides to the most prestigious colleges and universities in the land came pouring in. During his time of exploring various schools to obtain various degrees, Hank met Charles Xavier and Moira MacTaggart. Soon realizing that Xavier and Hank had a lot in common with their abilities, the three became friends and began to study mutation together. Over the years Hank kept in touch with Charles and Moira even when their three paths deviated. Around his very early twenties, Hank met a young woman named Emily. Steady flirtation and quantities of alcoholic beverages led to a short lived fling between the two. Hank awoke to the young woman missing, and no clues to find her. Faced with the facts of never seeing her again, he went about his life as usual.

After obtaining his Ph.D., Hank was noted as a brilliant scientist and scooped up immediately by the Brand Corporation. Over the years work grew to include vaccines and medicines for various diseases and other ways to help the world. Mutant research never ceased at the same time, picked up along the side covertly. During one of his experiments, Hank discovered the hormonal extract that causes genetic mutation. Unwilling to test the hormone upon others he subjected himself to the experimentation. Hank took the extract and underwent radical physical changes that enhanced his agility and strength, as well as causing him to grow fangs, pointed ears, and fur all over his body. When he stayed too long in this state, Hank found he could not return to his original form. He was now a beast in fact as well as in name. At first, he tried to hide his mutation with a latex mask and gloves, but later learned to accept his new appearance. The only exception was to maintaining work at the Brand Corporation, Hank employed the masks and later a digital image inducer that created holographic disguises to keep employers in the dark as to his changes.

Reuniting with Xavier and Moira, Hank was instrumental in the growth of their plans for teaching and finding mutant youths. From the start Hank was suspicious of Erik Lehnsherr, Xavier’s new friend. Suspicions that would bear fruitful years later. Along with Xavier’s young wards Scott Summers and Jean Grey, the wealthy young man Warren Worthington III, and the beautiful African Native Ororo Munroe; Henry became one of the first of Xavier’s ‘X-Men’. Learning to accept his appearance he has remained a stalwart member of the X-Men even as the mansion is changing and full of new faces. Henry’s change in appearance has made him more than suited for helping others come to deal with less than human appearances. Work with Moira on the mutant genome continues to this very day.
