Full Name: Daniel Rand Codename: Iron Fist Nicknames/Aliases: Danny Age: 21 Birthday: December 22nd, 1988
Ethnicity/Race: American/Caucasian Height: 6’1 Weight: 175 Eyes: Blues Hair: Dark Blonde Features: Danny has a tattoo of a black dragon across his chest.

Personality: Don’t let the martial arts master title fool you, Danny really is just a regular guy. Funny and charming, Danny loves living life. He is by no means carefree and irresponsible but he does always take time to have, despite the burden of being both a New X-Men and the CEO of a company. Danny does have a hard time taking the business side of Rand Corp serious only because he is disinterested in it. But in general, Danny is level headed and smart. He care about what he does and does it the best to his ability.
Danny has a desire to be the best man he can, making his parents and grandparents proud. But he also desires to be his own person. He is fiercely independent and goes his own way. He sees the world in a positive way, he is loyal and kind.
Despite not being irresponsible it doesn’t mean Danny doesn’t skirt responsibility sometimes. And his independence means he doesn’t like being told what to do or how to do something. Danny is confident with himself and very flirty, which too some might come off as cocky. Danny also has a hard time controlling his emotions at times; especially when he sees people get hurt.

If Danny was to hit someone with iron fist, it would be like being hit with a hot rod which weighed one ton.
Power weaknesses: When using his Iron Fist Danny’s other abilities seem to fall to the way side. He is not as fast or as skilled, as he needs to put all his concentration in controlling his Iron Fist and keeping it at a level which would not kill someone.
Power Name: Augmented Human Abilities. Power Type: Physical Power Description: Danny has peak human strength, speed, agility, durability and reflexes. This ability is more of a ‘learned’ ability that was just augmented by his power.

The Brotherhood Bigots The Hellfire Club History:(The beginning of Danny Rand’s legacy does not begin with Danny but with his grandfather Orson Rand. Born in a wealthy family Orson Rand grew up having it all. His father, like Orson, had been born into wealth and therefore was incredibly frivolous and lazy. Both his parents’ grew up with a silver spoon in their mouths and saw things like hard work as wasteful and beneath them. They were cruel to their servants, giving them remedial and demeaning tasks and looked upon them as lower beings. They travel often, leaving Orson alone with his nanny. It might have been for this reason that Orson turned out to be the exact opposite of his parents. Kind and hardworking, Orson did not let the fact that he was born in money define him.
Only a year into college, Orson decided to leave and set off on a adventure all on his own. For a year he traveled to third world countries, helping the natives any which we he can. Eventually when he arrived at the Himalayas, planning to conquer the dangerous mountain to prove once and fall that he was not at all like his spoiled parents. And Orson did travel up the mountain, braving the terrain and the harsh winds, Orson made it to the top, but what he discovered their surprised even him.
A village called K’Un Lun stood before. And it was here Orson discovered his true purpose in life. K’Un Lun housed some of the greatest martial arts in the world, men and women both had mastered all forms of the art. At first the men were cautious of the outsider and Orson was taken in their prison. But when Ta-Kung, the village’s greatest warrior, stepped forward to claim Orson as a pupil, the shocked villages were forced to release the man.
Ta-Kung saw the potential in Orson Rand and for the next ten years taught Orson all he knew of martial arts. Orson excelled at rates which took even Ta-Kung by surprise and soon enough Orson was teaching Ta-Kung’s young, ten year old son, son Lei-Kung the ways in martial arts. The next five years Orson spent his time mastering his martial arts, while training young Lei-Kung, who admired Orson as much as any child could.
Yet Orson realized that he had to go home eventually and he already let fifteen years pass since he was last home. So Orson descended the mountain and returned to New York, fully expecting his parents to be exactly where he found them.
Unfortunately Orson discovered that his parents’ had died in a private jet accident, which meant Orson had inherited all their money while he was away. Orson was shocked to discover and the grief struck him in a way which surprised even him. He felt guilt and shame for leaving his family and never having a chance to say goodbye. It was sitting alone in his large mansion that Orson realized that he wanted what he had lost and never really had. He wanted a real, loving family. While he loved K’Un Lun and its people there, he also began to realize that he had a purpose back in America. He had his wealth and with that wealth he could help people in America and all over the world. The images of the poor, starving children still haunted his mind, even fifteen years later.
For this reason Orson took over Rand Corp, his great grandfather’s old company which was now mostly run by board members and men who held stock. Orson took claim to it and decided that Rand Corp not just be about developing the newest, most impressive cars, computers and yes at times weapons but would also devoted themselves largely to solving the worlds problems. He pooled his own money and Rand resources into making Rand the leader in aide work and charity around the world.
During that time he met a beautiful young woman and had a child named Wendall. Orson’s life was perfect. He was helping all around the world and making a difference. He was the exact opposite of what his parents’ had been in every way; especially in that he was an excellent father who was not only by Wendall’s side whenever he needed him but taught him right and wrong, and how wealth equals responsibility.
Orson even began to teach Wendell martial’s arts but Wendell’s mother, a pacifist, expressed her great discomfort in such acts so Orson eventually stopped. Sadly though Wendell’s mother and Orson’s wife dead of cancer shortly after Wendell turned sixteen.
It was at this time that Orson decided to bring Wendell to K’un Lun. There Orson tried to teach Wendell martial arts, but the boy expressed little to no interest in it. He was too busy grieving over his mother. At that same time Ta-Kung grew very ill and passed away leaving the still young Lei-Kung in charge of the village. Lei-Kung asked Orson to stay as his second in command an though Orson hesitated he realized he did not want to go home anymore. Home reminded him of the loss of his wife and the fact that eventually, Wendell would leave him too would leave him too, both for college and a family of his own. Then all he would have left is work. And while he loved his work and loved helping people, Orson realized that he missed K’Un Lun immensely and could not imagine a life sitting behind a desk. So he made arrangements that would leave his business in the hands of handpicked board members and decided to stay in K’Un Lun.
Wendell meanwhile spent the next year missing home terribly. He began to grow resentful towards his father as he felt he forgot all about him. For the next year he and his father seemed to fight constantly. Orson felt that Wendell was being spoiled as he only desired to go back home to his riches and friends and Wendell felt Orson was being arrogant and selfish, only caring about his village and his protégé and not his own son. On his eighteenth birthday Wendell left K’un Lun and returned home, not even bothering to say goodbye to his father.
Orson was heartbroken but too stubborn to admit it. He made arraignments so that his son would be in control of his wealth and then cut off all contact with him, believing his son to be nothing but a spoiled, pampered brat who did not appreciate hard work.
Yet Orson was of course only fooling himself, too prideful to admit his mistakes. Wendell was truly the son he always wanted. He was hardworking, strong and selfless. Just not in the way that Orson was. And sadly for Orson, he would never see his son alive again and be able to release that.
Upon his return home Wendell Rand enrolled at Harvard and excelled beautifully. He was at the top of his class, president of his class, president of his fraternity, and become one of Boston’s youngest and most valuable community leader’s. If his father could only see him, Orson would have been proud beyond words.
It was during his time at Harvard that Wendell met feisty and independent Heather. The two married during their senior year and a had child born shortly after they both graduated Sum Cum Laude. That child was Daniel Rand.
A fine husband and a proud father, Wendell was excited for his future though he missed his father dearly. He wanted nothing more than his father to meet Danny and Heather, the two people Wendell cherished more than anything in the world. He got quite a pleasant surprise upon graduation when he was told that he was now CEO of Rand Corp, something his father had arranged long ago.
Wendell entered a very different Rand Corp than his father had created. The company had become one of the most powerful in the world but not through its charity work but through its weapons sales. This disgusted Wendell. He could not stand by and to see his father’s legacy tarnished nor could he allow his name be attached to something as violent as weapons.
So Wendell did something drastic. He completely shut down the weapons division his company. Rand Corp stock plummeted and many, many people lost their jobs but Wendell was content with himself. He could not sleep at night knowing he was creating weapons which would kill people.
For the next seven years Wendell worked hard to get Rand Corp back in the black and he did as Rand Corp become of the world’s foremost leaders in technology. Wendell also made sure that Rand Corp’s charity and aide worked remained a top priority, making Rand Corp not only of the world’s most powerful corporations but its most beloved. This made the Rand family international celebrities, loved by all worldwide.
Yet both Heather(who was the head of Rand Corp’s charity and aide division) and Wendell did not let it go to their head. Despite their busy work schedule they made sure they always had time for Danny, putting him before business meetings, trips, photo ops and even their own charity work. Wendell and Heather were both ready to give Rand Corp on the drop of a dime if it was best for Danny.
But Danny was a smart boy, a strong and selfless as his father, as feisty and independent as his mother. Even at seven he was a charmer. He was funny and friendly and Wendell and Heather were proud of the boy they had raised. Danny did not let his wealth or fame get to him, in fact he hardly paid attention to it. Danny just saw himself as a normal boy and felt money and fame just came with the name and was not a part of who he was.
Wendell, who was so proud of his young son’s ingenuity and character, decided that it was time he paid a visit to his father. The love he felt for Danny made Wendell realize not only how much he loved his father but how much he missed him. There was so much Wendell wanted to show and tell his father but mostly, he just wanted to hug him and tell him he was sorry.
To his surprise, Heather was completely game for the trips up the Himalayas. She knew how important this was to Wendell and she would be at his side every step of the way, as would Danny. Wendell left his best friend and most loyal employee Jeryn Hogarth in charge of Rand Corp, much to dismay of Rand Corp’s Vice President, Harold Mecaham. Mecaham who had been at Rand Corp since Orson’s day, felt he should have been in charge of Rand Corp by now and hated Wendell’s intrusion into his business. It had been Mecaham who spearheaded Rand Corp’s prominence in weapon making.
Mecaham knew that the Board Members would never let Hogarth take full control of the company and were only doing it to appease Wendell during his temporary absence. Mecaham decided to make Wendell absence a little less temporary.
The Rands made their way up the Himalayas, not knowing the danger which would soon met them. Before they could reach the top, they had to stop due to eight year old Danny, who was not taking to the harsh elements kindly. While Danny tried to pretend he was fine and that he could go on, his parents knew better.
As they warmed Danny up, Mecaham Reeves men caught up to them. Upon catching sight of the men, each holding an AK-47, Wendell told his wife to take Danny and run. Heather did not protest, she knew there was no reason too. She kissed her husband good bye, knowing full well it would be the last time she saw him. But she knew she couldn’t grieve. Danny had to get to safety. Danny on the other hand clung on to his father. He would not move until Heather had to pry him off his father’s leg. Wendell gave his son a kiss on the forehead and Danny looked up at his father, his blue eyes filled with tears. It would be the last time he laid eyes on Wendell.
As Heather rushed up the mountain, Wendell went to go and stop the gunmen. Yet he was no match for them and was quickly gun down with four bullets to the chest. The bullets sounded through the air, catching Heather and Danny’s attention. Heather wanted to scream and to cry, but she knew she couldn’t. Danny had to get to safety. Wendell had given his life to assure that Danny would reach K’Un Lun.
But on her way up, Heather took one bad step and tumbled to her knees, breaking her leg. She cursed self. They were only miles from K’Un Lun, she had to get Danny there. She tried to tell her son to leave her, to just keep coming up the trail but Danny would not. He held onto his mother and told her they had to get to K’Un Lun so they can see Wendell again. He was unable to accept the fact that his father was dead and his mother would soon be too.
Deciding she had no choice, Heather go to her feet and began to make her way towards K’Un Lun. In her injured state she was slow. She knew she would never make it before the men reached her. All she could think about was Danny. How could she save Danny?
And like that she began screaming for help. She knew the mind would find her eventually, she justh ad to hope someone from K’Un Lun could hear her. As the men arrived, guns in hand, Heather gave one last scream before throwing herself upon Danny, acting as a human shield
As his mother covered him, Danny heard gunshots and felt his mother flinch and tense multiple times. Her blood hit his face and he felt her go limp on top of him. As the last bullet fired, Danny felt a sudden sharp pain between his pecs. He had been shot.
The world went black around Danny.
Back in K’un Lun Orson Rand had heard the woman’s first scream. In no time Orson was off and despite being 57 years old, moved like a man half his age. He came upon the woman just as she was shot. Anger filled Orson as he charged towards the men, killing each man with his bare hands. When he was finished Orson moved towards the woman lying dead on the ground and in the blood stained snow, saw a small child’s hand.
Gently Orson pushed the woman’s body off the child she was covering, to reveal a boy who for a second Orson thought was his son Wendell. He was the spitting image of him. The boy was breathing and whimpering and had a bullet lodged right in between his breasts. Orson could see the end of the bullet in the boy’s chest, the woman’s body had blocked it from going in any further.
But why did this boy look like Wendell? It could not just be a coincidence that he would be here among all places.
Orson quickly took the boy in his arms and brought him to K’Un Lun, where he left him in the care of the villagers shamans. Orson went back into the mountain, retrieving Heather’s body . Upon returning her, like a man possessed Orson went further down the mountain until he found what he feared he would. The body of his beloved son Wendell. Orson’s cry of agony vibrated through the mountain and to the young ears of Danny Rand, who awoken with a fright.
The bullet had been taken out of his body and Danny had no internal injuries. In fact the injury he had from his gunshot was a nasty looking wound that would eventually turn into a scar. Frightened and not knowing where he was Danny quickly dashed past the shaman, practically jumping through his legs to get to safety. It was just as he was about to leave the shaman’s home when he literally collided into Lei-Kung.
Lei-Kung knew immediately who the boy was and gently took his hand. Despite his fear, Danny instinctively knew he could trust the man and allowed the man to guide him to the entrance of the village, where his grandfather, Orson, was coming through, Wendell Rand’s body in his hand.
Upon the sight of his father’s body Danny burst into tears. He remembered know. His mother and father were dead. Both had sacrificed their life for him and know he was alone.
As Orson laid his son on the ground, his eyes traveled up to his grandson, who through his tears looked back at the man who somehow reminded him of his father. It was then Orson told Danny who he was and Danny, not knowing what else to do, rushed into his grandfather’s arms, hugging him tightly.
They buried both Wendell and Heather that night, giving both the honor of the sacred burial of the K’Un Lun people. Orson watched as his son was brought down into the Earth, both pride and agony going through his body. Once again he failed his family, first his parents and now his precious son. Orson looked down at his grandson, who was holding his one large hand with both his tiny hands. Orson closed a fist around Danny’s hand and promised himself he would not do the same.
But he had to take care of one thing. He had to make sure Danny would always be safe and he had to get revenge for his son. Though Lei-Kung advised against it, he knew he could not stop Orson. Orson left Danny in Lei-Kung’s care as he traveled back down the mansion to find and then kill the man responsible for his son’s death.
Alone and still grieving Danny spent weeks at the entrance of K’Un Lun, waiting for his grandfather to return. Danny knew where his grandfather had gone and he only wished he had taken him wife him. The pain he had felt was constant, he missed his parents so much and he was angry at the world for taking them away and angry at himself for letting them sacrifice their lives for him.
Lei-Kung could almost sense Danny’s torment and decided to not only watch the boy but to begin to teach him in martial arts. Danny was more than up to the challenge. It took his mind off his parents death and also gave him a sense of power and determination that he lost when his parents died.
The two trained three times a week, two hours a day, Lei-Kung not wanting to push the boy. Still Danny excelled in ways no child that age had ever done before. For a year it went on and slowly but surely Danny turned into the happy, charming and funny boy he once was. The people in the village loved him and Danny felt right at home. He also cared greatly for Lei-Kung, seeing him as an almost father-figure.
Orson would return shortly after Danny’s first full year in K’Un Lun, his task complete. Everyone in the village could tell something inside Orson had changed. He was harder now and seemed to only soften around Danny.
Yet despite this when it came to martial arts he was anything but soft to Danny. Every day and almost every hour Orson trained Danny and Danny would never complain. He wanted to make his grandfather proud and he wanted to make sure that his parents sacrifice would not go in vain. He would be both strong of mind and body and when he returned to America, Danny would make sure the Rand name would remain renown.
For five years straight Danny trained under his grandfather and in no time became one of the best fighters in K’Un Lun. Yet things would soon change for Danny.
During a sparring match with a man twice his age, Danny was besting him with ease. As he took the man down, Danny could not help but make a slightly cocky remark. Seeing this angered Danny’s grandfather. He did not want his grandson to get cocky, so he himself stepped into the ring. Orson made quick work of Danny, flipping Danny onto his back in almost a minute.
Embarrassed and angry, Danny got put up and Orson did it again, this time hitting Danny smack across the face. The anger inside Danny grew. He wasn’t going to loss this fight. Throwing back his arm with all his might, Danny clenched his fist, Danny throw a punch aimed at his grandfather’s stomach. As his fist moved forward, Danny felt a strange sensation emerge from a fist, one that burned yet sent a warm, pleasurable feeling through his hand. As his fist hit his grandfather’s stomach, he saw that his arm was glowing a fiery orange color.
His grandfather flew off his off and traveled at least five feet before crashing onto the ground. The villagers of K’Un Lun grasped as Danny’s hand continue to glow. They were not sure what to make of it. They had never seen a mutant before and thought Danny might have been some sort of witch.
Danny looked down at his fist, his mouth hanging open, his skin pale. He could not believe it. He was a mutant.
Danny’s grandfather was as shocked as Danny, and worried too. The people of of K’un Lun seemed to slightly fear his grandson and there were discussions of exiling Danny due to his nature. Lei-Kung fought against for Danny but even he saw that the people of K’un Lun weren’t ready to accept a mutant.
Danny himself meanwhile was taking to his newly discovered race with ease. He felt no shame for who he was and began to practice with his new ‘Iron Fist’, as he lovingly referred to it. To protect his grandson from being outcasted by the people had grown up with Orson decided it was best for Danny to leave K’un Lun and return to his world.
Danny himself was quite ready to go back home. He missed the normalcy of the real world. While he loved martial arts a part of Danny longed to be back in the world which reminded him of his parents’. He knew his father never intended for Danny to grow up this way and the one thing Danny wanted to do was make his parents’ proud and make sure their memory and work would live on.
But before Danny could make his leave of K’Un Lun his grandfather feel gravely ill. Orson was dying and once again felt like he was letting a family member down. He asked one last wish of his dear friend Lei-Kung, to go with Danny to the world below and continue his training. Lei-Kung agreed.
Danny meanwhile was being asked to once again leave behind a loved one. As he took his grandfather’s hand, he thanked him for not only saving his life but for giving him back a life too, for helping making him a man that would make his father Wendell proud.
At these words Orson came to the realization that he did not fail Danny and he was able to pass on, happy that both his son was the man Orson himself could never be, and that his grandson Danny would be better than them both.
Danny returned to New York with Lei-Kung following shortly behind him. Danny was put under the guardianship of Wendell’s best friend and still temporary CEO b Jeryn Hogarth. The media went crazy at the return of the boy once thought dead but Danny continued on his life like nothing happened. He never gave an explaniation to his whereabouts to anyone but the police, who he told he an elaborate lie about being taken in by an old couple in Tibet.
But life was tough for Danny. Lei-Kung was continuing Danny’s training regime, training every day before school and every night after dinner. On weekends, Danny would train for hours straight. High school was also keeping Danny busy. Most saw Danny as nothing but a bratty famous rich boy and Danny found himself friendless. Meanwhile b Jeryn Hogarthwas training him to one day take as CEO of Rand Corp. To say Danny was stressed was an understatement.
It was then his powers began to become out of control. His ‘Iron Fist’ would emerge whenever e got angry or whenever he was feeling to stressed and at times would start to actual harm Danny. That was when he was approached by the Xavier Institute. Danny took the chance right away. He had never been around other mutants.
For the first year Danny did not leave at Xavier’s Mansion but instead stayed at his own mansion where he continued both his tutorship in business and his training in fighting. Though Danny feigned boredom in tutoring lessons, he was actually learning and picking up on quite a bit. Danny was sure he did not like business, not even a bit. He had no qualms with continuing his parents charity and aide work, in fact that is exactly wanted to do but Danny loathed the actual business aspect of Rand Corp. The board meetings, the shmoozing clients, the hiring, the firing, and all those charts!
Meanwhile after nearly ten years of constant training Danny had begun to master certain forms of martial arts and become highly proficient in others. Lei-Kung was beginning to realize that it was time Danny’s apprenticeship ended and that he set off on his own path.
Lei-Kung bid Danny farewell, promising he would return whenever he could. And as Danny turned eighteen and therefore became more involved with the day to day workings of Rand Corp, and therefore did not need nightly tutoring sessions, Danny finally moved into the mansion for his last year of high school.
It was also during this time that Danny decided to get a dragon tattoo(the sign of the village of K’un Lun) on his chest. The tattoo was placed directly over the scar of his gun shot wound he received as a child.
For the next four years Danny trained by himself and with the X-Men, while also going to Columbia to get his business degree, though he loathes the latter. Danny is still CEO of Rand Corp, even if Jeryn does most of the business work. Danny is however still heavily involved with charity and aide effort, taking the position his mother once held.
Danny wants to make his parents proud and he will make sure Rand Corp. stays vital and strong. But Danny has also begun to realize something. When was inducted into the X-Men and, he knew that he wanted to be a superhero because that’s’ what he feels is the right thing of someone with his capabilities to do. And he wants to have fun and be normal. He also wants to make his parents proud, and he also doesn’t want to let the company. In many ways, Danny is torn in all directions, unsure of who he wants to become and who he should become. The Rand name comes with a long legacy but Danny also wants to have his own legacy, he wants to be his own person.
Somehow Danny will find a way to be both superhero and business man, philanthropist and party boy, but ultimately, Danny wants to make his parents and grandfather proud because Danny is all the remains of the Legacy of the Rands.
