The thought from earlier this morning, the one she had forgotten about, of reports of two children surviving had driven Jeanne-Marie insane for the rest of the day and while she had been at the college she looked up the article again, printed it out and rushed back to the mansion after her last class, and not before she had caught ridicule over her outfit. It wasn't her fault she wasn't affected by cold, right?

But article in hand she had grabbed Jean-Paul when he first arrived and dragged him down to see Doctor McCoy.

She explained the article and a bit of her childhood to the man, before showing her ears, and then jean-Paul's.

"The mere fact that we're both from Quebec, have pointed ears, and have the same powers is too........improbable. I...Could you just check please?" she has asked, and the Doctor had taken pity on her.

That had been a few hours ago and all the while Jeanne-Marie and Aurora had a back and forth in their head and slightly aloud and sighed and fidgeted the whole time.

Looking over at Jean-Paul she smiled softly and shrugged.

Fast was something one got used to when they had speed powers. Fast on your own terms though. Not dragged around super fast by a frenzied insane girl intent on proving something that he didn't even properly hear as she had dragged him to get blood drawn. One grumpy blood draw later, Jean-Paul detested needles and now had a healthy iritation growing with Jeanne-Marie and Beast, they were now sitting and waiting for results or something. Once they had slowed down and stopped rushing around he had gleamed the full story. Something about the story about her parents death and another child and their similar ears and powers. Sure it seemed odd to be so similar and it grated at him that he was perhaps not as special and singular as hoped, but to be related somehow? That was a stretch.

Then again why was he still sitting there? Normally there would have been a burst of speed and slamming doors in the wake. Yet something about the girl gave off a calming effect and he was willing to sit there and wait with her no matter how irritated he was. Perhaps there was some connection after all. Their names were similar as well. Oh brother...or sister actually...how would he deal with having a sibling. Always an only child had been the destiny of Jean-Paul. No just sibling but apparently two siblings as the new sibling came with a split personality.

"Will you hurry up you walking carpet! Some of us have places to be other than the lab we live in. Oh and fyi you should take a shower you smell like chemicals. I'm surprised you're not bleached by now."

Jeanne-Marie frowned and looked over at Jean-Paul, twitching a little as Aurora slid over and glared at him.

"Hush you, Doctor McCoy is working as fast as he can, and if you don't want to be here, then you can leave. You could have left at any time. You want to know just as much as Jeanne-Marie, there's something about her that's bugging you. You can almost put your finger on it, and then it slips away like water though your fingers. Don't deny it, even if Jeannie can't see it, I can." she told him, leaning close and speaking softly to keep the doctor from hearing her.

"Look, if you really don't give two shits, you can leave. But don't hurt Jeannie like you did earlier this morning. She's never had anyone in her life. I don't count, apparently," Aurora trailed off towards the end, sounding pained by that.

"So, you have two choices. Leave or shut up."

Claw tipped fingers gripped the slide carefully as it slid out from the microscope. Setting it down, it was placed in a case marked with Jeanne-Marie's name, as another was slid into one with Jean-Paul's. Those same fingers rose to rub the bridge of the nose as ears picked up the young man's irritated words. Ah the anger of youth. Thoughts weren't fully upon the tests below as their strange similarity to tests done a few weeks before came to mind overbearingly. Just a few weeks before during a crisis a similar test of blood had occurred as family relationship was established as well. The difference was that this test was specifically done to figure out relationship. The last one only had that outcome as a byproduct of discovering a blood donor for an injured young woman. That in the Hank found himself a daughter was just an addition to what had occurred.

Sighing the man glanced up as he noticed that Jeanne-Marie was leaning in and saying something to Jean-Paul with a clearly irritated look upon her face. As long as the young man was quiet now. "Invariably a test of such magnitude would go smoother without the running commentary and exasperation young Mr. Martin. Unless of course you're hiding a Ph.D in your impressive background, I suggest you sit quietly and keep your mouth shut."

A brief stab of regret came as his usually calm and friendly demeanor seemed to have left for the moment. That stab faded quickly though as Hank had every reason to be off a bit. Life had changed greatly. With a sigh, and another rub of the eyes, the man dived back into the test at hand.

Ganged up on by both the harsher personality of the person that might be his sister and the walking carpet, joy. Jean-Paul sighed and leaned back. "All right, all right. Sheesh. I'll stay. Man can't speak his mind without getting beaten down. Thought this was the country of freedom of speech." The last parts were slightly muttered as he began to tap fingers upon the arm of the chair. Of course tests of the magnitude they were asking too time. It made logical sense. Yet with the magnitude of what they might learn it was really playing havoc with one's patience.

"If you're part of Jeanne-Marie you should realize why this would be important to her. Having real life family that is flesh and blood is not the same as having another personality. Clearly she does need you as you still exist within her. Yet talking to yourself in your mind isn't the same as having someone different. You are different than her but of the same mind therefore anything she thinks you'll no doubt think the same or similar. You're a different kind of family to her. Obviously." Jean-Paul had turned back to the young woman, and tried to be nice in his words till the end when he just couldn't hold back letting in at least a little snark. It was just who he was.

"Dont you think I know that?" she asked, looking at him with an almost baleful glance, "I know it's not the same, and I, I know what it's like to be alone." she muttered and rubbed her temples.
