Amun
Population Class: Sparse

OVERVIEW
Amun takes its name from a chief that led a triad of Egyptian gods. In its founding, Amun was only a military port. Passing ships in need of repair or supplies would stop at Amun to become battle ready. Ships beyond repair would be dismantled at the shipyards at Amun, their parts being siphoned off to different shops to be used elsewhere.

With the fall of Earth, disheartened admirals took their fleets to Amun, bringing with them any number of citizens from outlying colonies that their ship could reasonable fit. With a sudden detonation in population, Amun grew. Given its large caches of ammunition, fuel and scrap, Amun became an important staging grounds for the war effort against the venkath.

Amun in many ways is a museum where fleeing armies deposited large reserves of outdated military technology here, desperate for any vehicles in the conflict.

POLITICS
Deep Mistrust of the Military: Placed under martial law by rogue admirals, Amun's civilian population that was deposited there by the same men soon found themselves captive by them. Left on a desert planet with too few easily-available resources to be utilized, the admirals were able to exert large amounts of control over the population, trading important resources planet side down in exchange for labor or favors. Years of this relationship continued with the admirals going as far to develop kangaroo courts to declare large numbers of civilians criminals, exiling them to the deep desert - later to be known as the Salt Fields. By large it was forgiven as this punishment freed up critical resources for the rest of the population.

Later after the war, the founder admirals were court court martialed for their mistreatment of the population. Civilian governance was restored to the planet thereafter.

PLACES OF INTEREST
Salt Fields: Beyond the scope of any natural resources or areas of importance, the Salt Fields are inhabited by criminals, exiles or social recluses. Settlements or homes are built into standalone rock columns. Land caravans exist between the Salt Fields and other settlements.
