![]() Carbonari Population Class: Sparse OVERVIEW Carbonari (pronounced: carbon-air-i) is a tropical world divided into hundreds of thousands of islands of varying sizes. Cities are spread out across clusters of hundreds of islands, with above and underground superhighways allowing easy transit. This planet's bureaucracy has a poor history of assisting with Republic authority investigations, making Carbonari a popular tax haven. With a strong belief that the venkath would successfully exterminate humanity, the planet was settled. Where some planets were fortified or others hidden beyond deep space, Carbonari had no intentions of defending itself or hiding. Rather, the planet was inhabited with one sole mission: to live out the last of their days with a smile on their face. Discussion of the war was punishable by securing the individual into a pod and firing them deep into the ocean, allowing rapid decompression to kill the individual. These events would be broadcast across the colony from a camera inside the pod, reminding citizens the cost of such negative behavior. POLITICS Jubilant Administration: It is deeply socially distasteful and still in some cases punishable by exile to discuss the venkath, drama between the Republic and the Kord Ascendancy or Aurelian Dominion or to acknowledge anything that can be understood to be fear-mongering or emotionally shocking. Ocean Shock Adventure: Outlawed by the Republic, the Ocean Shock Adventure is little more than securing an individual into a pod and firing them deep into the ocean, allowing decompression to kill the individual, and to broadcast the event across the colony. Utilized to help the planet reach its mission of blissful ignorance, the method is used only in rare circumstances and under secrecy. PLACES OF INTEREST Sayonara: When Carbonari was founded, it was done so for the reason of living life to its fullest, and to the very end. Doomsayers as they were called threatened that belief with negative behavior and droning on about the end of humanity. Trying to reason with these Doomsayers had no permanent solution and transferring them to another colony was impractical. Instead, the Carbonari government drafted the Ocean Shock Adventure. Its delivery method was primarily through Sayonara!, a facility located at the basin of one of the main landmass. Officially closed when the planet became a member of the Republic, the facility is still utilized by fundamentalists who believe strongly in the original mission of the planet. ![]() Sayonara! is still utilized by fundamentalists. COMMON USE Carbonari has a CONDITIONAL Common Use policy. You are free to create characters and organizations that make their home or do business here, but must pass influential events through its owner first.
