![]() The ruby-red (dwarf) star of Chiron is one of the newest additions to the Aurelian Dominion. Acquired as a territory during the Reconstruction Period, it was an ample prize that the Confederacy had been eyeing for years preceding the Onslaught. The system itself is not overly large - containing only one habitable world, a gas giant, and several dwarf planets - but it is Dominion's attempt to be able to build a vision of their society from scratch. Instead of working with the clay they already had, the Emperor could "create new patriots" on a fresh canvas. Access to Chiron's inner planet of Pharos is strictly controlled via a singular lane that steers clear of the system's gas giant, Khepresh. Visitors and natives of the system are instructed by authorities that this is due to "dangerous gravitational fluctuations" caused by the massive celestial object. Travelers that have veered too far off course have told stories of warning shots fired across their bow by Dominion warships. The Prefecture of Chiron advises that all space-going traffic adhere to designated lane "or else safety cannot be guaranteed." Edited by Architect, Jun 13 2017, 06:16 AM.

Pharos![]() Classified as super-Earth, Pharos is almost virginal to the touch. With crystal blue waters, beautiful vistas, and the occasional active volcano, acclaimed Dominion author Miranda Veritas is quoted as saying Pharos is "a waking dream that evades natural description." It is home to a network of burgeoning colonies, a summer palace for the Urizen, and the headquarters of Frustum - a mineral extraction crown corporation that takes advantage of the numerous deep-sea thermal vents. Its golden sands are a popular tourist attraction that is rival only to the Prora on Aztlán. Named after the lighthouse of Alexandria, Pharos is the shining beacon of the Dominion's colonization program. Pharos is the first of many planets to be settled in the so-called First Sphere Expansion: a rapid settlement program meant to seed Dominion society to the galactic west of the Human Sphere. Aside from the natural planetside beauty, Pharos keeps an orbit of 9 rings. Made of rocks and dust, it is believed the rings are a leftover from a lunar collision several billion years ago. While in stable rotation now, the Aurelian Dominion Armed Forces (ADAF) have established a planetary defense grid in order to watch the horizon for an rogue asteroids. Astronomers note that the rings will eventually collapse into Pharos' gravity, there is no present immediate threat of annihilation in the current state. The garrison of Pharos has a saying: "came for the adventure, stayed for the weather." This in reference to many legionaries, after their tour of duty assigned to the Pharos Grid, that choose to stay planetside after they are entered into the reserves and assigned new functions. Khepresh![]() Twice the size of Jupiter nearly double the number of natural satellites, Khepresh has a wealth of potential resources that are presently forbidden to access. The Prefecture of Chiron is under orders from the Urizen to forbid all travel to the gas giant due to alleged gravitational fluctuations despite zero evidence to the contrary. The planet itself is named after the ancient Egyptian war crown which was known for it's bright blue hue. Original explorers noted the impressive auroras that formed a ring at the northern pole of the planet for two thirds of a Khepresh year.
