x The Rasalhague System The Core of Rungs Originally surveyed in full by a Confederacy-sponsored party in the period of solidification after the Terran Civil War, the Rasalhague system and its host yellow dwarf star posed themselves as quite the positive candidate for future endeavor. Comprised of four solid worlds, two of which fell within the band of being classified as Terran, two gas giants, and a slathering of smaller celestial bodies, more than a good few began drawing up plans for the system. With the outbreak of the Venkath Onslaught though, everything came to grinding halt and the system was essentially just one more thing to forget, as there was a far more pressing issue on the table. In the period of reconstruction following humanity's hard fought victory, the system was revisited. It was immediately apparent that something was wrong however, as Elbis was, to put it plainly, shattered. Split open to its very core, the various shards and smaller debris remaining knit together and along the second orbital slot. Not to be dissuaded, quite a number of ventures saw the massive profits that could be extracted from this unexpected destruction. chief among them being the Osyrian Mineral Trust. ![]() Elbis The Shattered Core While originally labeled the main attraction of the Rasalhague system, the near complete destruction of Elbis saw the world take on a much different role in the bigger picture. What was once a known to be a viable Terran-like world had since become barren, its atmosphere essentially absent, and portions of its crust and moon lingering about in near orbit. In the aftermath of the Onslaught, many theorized that Elbis was the victim of some sort of Venkath machination, such as the fielding testing of some kind of WMD. The truth was something much less damning however. More thorough investigations into the situation, especially after the arrival of early resourcing operations, discovered that the destruction was likely the result of a natural occurrence. Evidence and simulations support the prospect of a massive gravitational shift either with Elbis proper or its singular moon. Either way, the moon, having lost its own stable orbit, was set on a crash course with the world. Aside from the raw destruction of the impact itself, the massive shift in forces present quickly eroded away the world's atmosphere, essentially transforming what remained of its surface into a barren landscape in short order. Though it was no longer a feasible candidate for colonization, the destruction did expose vast quantities of raw resources ripe for extraction. With a sizable chunk thorn from the world, even the deepest deposits were laid bare to an extent. As the Osyrian Mineral Trust, and eventually Osyrian Kingdoms gained control over the planet and its near shards, large scale operations were established in numerous locations. For a world already destroyed, there are few concerns. ![]() Uthros Contingency Clause Serving as the capital world of the Osyrian Kingdoms, Uthros found its start serving in support of operations on Elbis. Numerous settlements comprised of living quarters, administrative offices, fabrication centers, and agricultural facilities, among a number of other items, propped up across the planet. Through them, workers sent to Elbis could easily be shuffled about, but still kept more-or-less on hand and in system. As the Osyrian Mineral Trust gained more and more control over the entire system, the company also made considerable investments in building up some these settlements, transforming them into sizable frontier cities. Chief amongst these was Tharace, which was first chosen to serve as the hub of Trust operations within the system. With the eventual founding of the Osyrian Kingdoms, the city became the bona fide capital, with the power of the Imperial Throne consolidated within the walls of Canstra Palace. ![]() Information Orbital Slot: Third Length of Day: 28 hours, 32 minutes Class: Terran Gravity: 10.1 Breathable Atmosphere: Yes Water Coverage: 67% Claimed By: Osyrian Kingdoms Population Class: Medium Class II Places of Interest: - Edited by dukka, Sep 12 2017, 05:58 PM.
