My esteemed colleagues,

As per the agreement made in our most recent session in regards to the developing situation of Torpor, the former colony's human populace, and the Thoryxian Transitional Administration, I have made the necessity of the Kingdoms leading role in the matter known to my superiors. While the minute details are still being worked out, the matters critical for the transit, comfort, and security of select representatives from each of you have been settled without issue.

Thus, in approximately TWO STANDARD WEEKS from the distribution of this notice you are requested to have delivered your diplomatic attaché to Unity. The vessel requisitioned to transport this collective representation will leave directly from Sol-2 to link up with its escort group outside of the system. From there, they will head directly to Adac's Star. To avoid a potential confrontation though, a majority of the escort will divert to a neighboring system and remain on standby solely as a precaution.

If you have any additional questions, concerns, or input, please do get in contact with either myself or my office. I shall do my best to address any additional communications in a timely manner.

Sincerely,
Ambassador Samantha Basara

Ambassador Basara,

Many thanks for your prompt message after the close of the recent Concordat session.

The Ascendancy reiterates its support towards the Osyrian Kingdoms handling this sensitive matter for the Human Sphere. While all of our interests will hopefully be represented at this initial meeting, it boosts confidence to know that an unbiased polity is at the forefront.

I'm unfortunately responding not with an itinerary but with news that the Kord Ascendancy will be abstaining from this diplomatic mission. The large majority of our diplomatic offices have been emptied in the past two weeks to transition into service for our Naval Command branch. I myself am currently back on Caprica to handle public relations with the Exeterian Crisis.

Instead, I must express regret from President Alexander Cullen as well as from myself. The Ascendancy will not be represented here. We wish you the best of luck in this endeavour and trust that the Osyrian Kingdoms will not lead the Human Sphere astray.

Regards,
Syndir Talon

Vega,

Cullen has transferred the majority of my staff to military service and has forbidden me from representing the Ascendancy on this Torpor mission.

What I sent you a week ago still stands. Until then, there is something you and your superiors need to know. The president has expressed some interest in opening talks with the Thesians for trade deals with these new aliens. Our two territories are between you and this 'Thoryxian Transitional Administration'. This is no doubt a political play to bolster the Republic's economy and gain a potential ally in any strong-arming against Aurei.

Officially the Ascendancy has relinquished representation to the Kingdoms. Unofficially,
make sure the thoryxians don't crawl into Lamar Stross' bed.

Ambassador Basara,

The Urizen and his subjects of the Aurelian Dominion offer you and your office many thanks for your acceptance of taking point with the diplomatic mission to Torpor. I hope that a neutral party like yourself can bring a swift conclusion to this already otherwise tense situation.

I have been authorized to inform you that the Urizen has agreed to pay the costs of the selerium required to make the jump from Sol-2 to Adac's Star and home again. While the defense of our diplomatic corps has been assigned to the Kingdoms, I want to ensure that we are paying our fair share.

Attached is a roster of those in attendance, notably one of our senior diplomats Livia Arkwright, an honor guard of Hussars and Praetorian security forces dressed in the crimson and white of the Concordat. If you have any questions or concerns, please forward them to my office address and we shall make any amendments as required.

Regards,
His Honor Horatio Vega
Aurelian Dominion Ambassador to the Concordat

Remember that favor you promised me for saving your buddy? I gotta call it in. In our typical saber rattling style, we obviously want Torpor as a sovereign entity and free from their alien oppressors.

Undoubtedly there was blowback from the deal we made, but you must of made it out alright. If it can be done, I need you to hardline or otherwise make sure sovereignty is on the table. Brass is breathing down the right necks, so I need you to make sure your people do this for me.

I appreciate that little tidbit of information though. Brass is getting too many PTSD flashbacks from the Onslaught and want Torpor to be sovereign. I am calling in a favor the Kingdoms owe to make sure that is on the table. If we can get our way, hopefully that would disrupt the thoryxian economy enough to defeat any notion of trade deals. If they even have an economy, that is.

I have not forgotten about the other matter. It is being addressed. Will let you know when I have more.

Ambassador Basara,

In the Agora, we were all excited to see the Kingdom put together the logistics as quick as you did. I did not have any doubts myself.

In the news of the time frame before mission launch, two guests as I am told, have left Ecclesia a few hours ago to make their way here. First among them will be Archon Schneizel el Thesia who is -very- eager to represent the Republic for these events. As a precaution, he will be joined by Junior Diplomat Richard Graves from the State Department.

Yours in liberty,

Ambassador Basara,

Myself and my team of aides are already on their way to arrive ahead of time, soas to allow myself ample time to prepare for the meeting.

I will be joined by;
Joshua Garen - Member of our Embassy Staff.
Sym Ko - My personal assistant.
Lex Ko - Sym's sister, and military liason (the bigwigs in the brass demanded I bring one along, so I brought the least militaristic one).
Rashell Menas - Personal doctor (I'm old).

Sincerely,

Ambassador Lunz Falven,

Ambassador Basara,
My ship is currently en route to the diplomatic rendezvous point and once there I will personally disembark. I am not taking any guards or fellow diplomats with me, though El Presidente does request that the Lovalico Special Envoy Vessel, a disarmed frigate, be allowed to 'tag along' with the primary escort vessel. Failing that, I request access to a secure QP2P channel, as El Presidente's input will be needed between diplomatic sessions.

I will admit, I am somewhat alarmed by the lack of guards or fellow diplomats on this mission. May I make a personal request of a small number of Osyrian troops as a body guard? I do not believe this is another Venkath scenario, but if worst comes to worst I would prefer to have someone with me.

Respectfully yours,
Ambassador Andrea Hernandez

Ambassador Basara,

While I abstained from commenting during the Concordat meeting prior to this, the Synarchy of Titan will be attending the diplomatic mission to Adac's Star.

I, myself will not be attending, however one of my colleagues in the Administration of Diplomacy, Administrator Erin Price, will be attending. Administrator Price's escort yacht will be escorted by four corvettes from the Synarchy of Titan Navy to ensure safe passage and will divert when necessary. Administrator Price will also have a security detail consisting of a single squad of soldiers, as per Synarchy of Titan regulations regarding foreign diplomacy.

All of our soldiers are trained in protection duties and know when it is necessary to disarm or change to civilian attire as to not cause tension or alarm, I have full faith in their abilities.

Signed,

Senior Administrator Ivy McKnight

Ambassador Talon,

While it is regrettable to hear that the Ascendancy is currently unable to partake in this next step, it is an understandable position to take. If you can find any solace, let it be that with the Exeterian Crisis on our plate right it is highly unlikely that anyone on this diplomatic mission will take any heavy risks regardless of the rewards. It is not often the galaxy awaits for just a few, but you might have found a morbid exception.

Thank you for the advance notice of the degree of the Republic's commitment towards this diplomatic mission. While I can't really speak of a man I hardly know, I do hope Archon Schneizel el Thesia doesn't hold expectations of treatment beyond what the rest of the rank and file attending from the other powers shall be receiving. Of course, I don't mean this in a way to disparage the standards that will be on display, but I think you get my point.

Ambassador Hernandez,

Though I had my doubts before even doing so, I did submit your request for the authorization of your frigate tag along to the Naval Command Directorate. As I expected though, they denied it and cited a number of regulations and other concerns that I don't wish to bore you with. Even without your asking though, I am seeing to the accommodation of secure QP2P terminals for each party. The terminals themselves are actually being brought to Unity ahead of time and will be inspected by an independent party here on-planet. You of course are welcome to do such yourself as well during the day of our departure.

Security on the other hand is a critical concern. As a VIP entrusted to the charge of the Kingdoms, you will be provided a squad of Royal Guards to see to your safety. Just like you said, let us hope all they are needed for is show.

I have been informed that Emperor Issachar has extended a personal thanks to the Dominion for its confidence in our work, as well as the selfless act of covering a portion of the selerium costs.

Aside from that, I ask that your representative's honor guard and security detail adhere to the standards and discipline expected of the Kingdoms' own. Though, having a vague idea of what they have all been through, I very much doubt this will be even the slightest bit of an issue.

H,

And here I was thinking you'd have me occurring a good chunk of interest before forcing a payment.

You are right though, I managed to crawl out of that mess for now. Granted, once I finish up a few more things here in Unity I am heading back to Uthros for a number of hearings. Investigations ended up in our favor and now a number of poor bastards are being put to the pyre by Dellis to appease the rest of the court. Once we are done churning them through I am sure the Dominion will be keen to receive a few easy extraditions.

We can save the details for when it is all said and done though. Ideally in person, would love to see that trademark punchable 'I won' face of yours when I give the good news in full.

Regardless of all of that, I don't really have the political clout to go heavy on what you are after here. I can have my proxy screen for you though, keep the detractors down and all that. It isn't the best solution, but it should provide you the room you need.

Invicta Spaceport, Unity; Invicta, Sol-2
7175 HE

Just like that and with little recourse or issue, the anointed day at long last came. The early morning routine for the staff of Invicta Traffic Control was charged with one more simple duty, the clearance of the diplomatic vessel sent by the Kingdoms to serve the needs of the outgoing diplomatic mission. Though the local authorities had been coordinating with the Office of Ambassador Basara since the inception of the plan, there was still plenty of last minute work to be shuffled through. After all, this was to be a day long landing with plenty of ground activity in and around the vessel, security and logistical concerns could be found aplenty.

A pain or not for those on both sides, the ONV Yeah Nice Granite, a one off produced 'special duty transport', saw its approach and landing verified in short order. Breaching the planet's atmosphere with no issues to report, the vessel continued its slow descent along its provided course. Speed and altitude decreasing in equal measures, a number of landing gears emerged from the vessel's underside, each one crunching an allowed degree as they met solid ground at last. Within moments of the landing being fully confirmed, the vessel cycled most of its systems to standby.

With the descent of the primary boarding ramp, a small team of security personnel and support staff made their way off the vessel. The former were tasked with keep the immediate landing area clear and in order, while the support staff sought out a number of local counterparts to see to the completion of a variety of lesser duties. Within an hour notice was dispatched to the offices or person of contact for each of the attending parties.

Over the remainder of the day a similar story played out for the arriving diplomats, in addition to any extra staff and security they had brought along. Groups would find themselves meeting face to face with adjunct from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon reaching the spaceport, before quickly being transferred out to the vessel proper. Once aboard, they would be shown their quarters for the trip. The head diplomats were provided relatively spacious suites, complete with ample stocks of basic amenities and a secure 'burner' QP2P terminal. A number of creature comforts had also been procured by those that provided any indications of such, anything to ease the trip of course. Additional staff and critical security personnel were provided either attached or neighboring quartering, with excess of the latter bunked out of space that would otherwise be used by the vessel's marine and royal guard attachments. From there everything was up to each individual party, as the rest of the day's schedule was dependent on the all attending to be accounted for and settled aboard the vessel.

Conference Room, Aboard the ONV Yeah Nice Granite
Invicta Spaceport, Unity; Invicta, Sol-2

Once such was the case however, a ship-wide notification was sent out, requesting the presence of the head diplomat of each polity make their way to a predesignated conference space. While not required, any other critical staff of any mission were invited to join as well.

Busying himself with a small pocket novel, all the while relaxed in a seat farthest from the conference room's entrance, Chief Minister Roger Harris gave moment breaks to quickly study influx of new faces to his domain. With faces he knew he needed to see committed to memory from provided dossiers, he rested his book opened face on the edge of the table as the final necessary attendee appeared ready for get things rolling.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I would first like the comment on how glad I am that you have all arrived here safely and without any notable delay. As you may, or more likely may not know, I am Roger Harris, Chief Minister for the Osyrian Kingdoms' Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While I do obviously have my own interests in this joint venture of ours', the general conduct and well being of all of you is also a duty of paramount importance to me. Either your ambassadors, or even some of you present here, have entrusted the Kingdoms with that much, and I don't intend to have anyone regretting doing so."

Glancing about his audience for a moment, Roger continued after providing a moment for processing of simplistic opener. "As this trip will clock in at just a tad over a standard week, I hope all of you use this time to build stronger reports with each other. Despite our differences, our feuds, and every other flaw with might have in the company of others present, the appearance of a unified Humanity will be key to our position in opening this dialogue with the thoryx. As I said though, we have more than a week to work this out. While I didn't intend to force anything out of anyone on this first day, you are all of course free to speak your minds."

Turning to sit back down, Roger felt what seemed like a grand revelation washing over his mind as he remembered one last, somewhat important fact. "Ah, and before I forget," he stated, pulling up the man seated beside him by the arm, "This is Captain Ellis Narmak of the Osyrian Royal Guard. He is charged with the security detail here on the ship and likely during our talks too. If you have any questions or concerns that fall more into his field, please just ask the man."

With that, Roger left the field open for any who wanted it. Granted, anyone and everyone was free to dismiss themselves for the night if they so wished.

”Who named this ship… Nice Granite --- they’re infantile at best, socially unconscious at worst. There are the afflicted that visit Rahman Khan’s Akin Crater that have had their minds turn to mush that could generate a better name than that. This Kingdom has plenty of minds – but this was the best they could come up with? Even if the Captain was allowed to name the ship, it seems that individuality and creativity is in dire short surprise among their people. If they had just scraped together two brain cells, maybe they would have been able to come up with something majestic or awe inspiring.”

Schneizel el Thesia was both dreaded the trip, but was excited for it as well. After hearing that the Republic would join the others on a diplomatic envoy, he had pulled some favors so he would represent the Republic, not some nameless Senior Ambassador. Though, there were certain limitations to his trip. One that sat directly across from the aisle from him.

Richard Graves, a Junior Ambassador. He leaned forward, shaking his head. ”I agree with you, but let’s keep that talk to a minimum – especially around the others.”

Schneizel didn’t grace him with a reply. Their next destination would be the thoryx – an altogether new alien species that showed no signs of aggression. This was perhaps a new species to enter the mix of available species to diversify the Republic even more. But to get there meant tolerating non-Thesians for too long for him to be comfortable with. These were basic humans, many of which he assumed would do little to impress him. Alas, the price of the journey.

As the ship that ferried them from Ecclesia spilled into neutral space, and their shuttle made way for the destination, the final preparations took place. Some entities brought extra men or women for purposes of diplomacy or analysis. Some brought security. Gossip was, the Dominion couldn’t part without their horses. Schneizel brought with him a single crate of goodies. Among it were different foods, drinks and different concoctions. Some others would call drugs. The Republic would call it perfectly normal. They were all separated into different sections of the crates. Most of these goods were perfectly legal on Republic worlds. Perhaps some of the goods less elsewhere. Schneizel wasn’t sure what the cargo specialists would do in that case. He left it to them.

When they met the adjunct from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Schneizel stormed right by, failing to even recognize the existence of the adjunct. Richard Graves left behind, passing their thanks and appreciations for being here, as well as recognizing all the good work the Kingdom had done in preparing for the journey. Oh, and not to mention what a unique and well-thought of ship name it was that they were boarding.

Later, they would be summoned to the conference call. Graves requested to join Schneizel, which he barely accepted.

Once they arrived, Schneizel bends his head down, looking for confirmation of who everyone else in the room was. Schneizel hadn’t bothered to learn the names of the people here. They weren’t the reason for his being here. He left such a task to Graves instead.

Taking a seat If available, Schneizel listened to the opening salvo of conversation. Instead of participating, he remained quiet. He had no business among these uninspiring drabs.

Graves, noticing Schneizel not participating but not wishing to create a scene rather moved to introduce them both. “Afternoon, everyone. I am Richard Graves, Junior Ambassador of the Republic. This here is Archon Schneizel el Thesia, representative of Ecclesia. Some of you in this room may have watched his plays, or at the very least heard of them. From Ecclesia, to Earth – and the Destination in Between, Uncle Drachmar, and Night of the Ruby Knives.”

It flowed out so naturally and wasn’t even meant to be a negative remark toward Senior Diplomat Livia Arkwright of the Dominion. Neither Graves or Schnizel flinched. It wasn’t a mistake, nor intended to create strife, making reference to the Night of the Ruby Knives where fanatics on Monolith butchered individuals with enhancements. It was stated only as a matter of fact of the Archon’s track record of plays.
