Awarding GM Points
Another rants from me; this time about how I dislike to give award GM Points subjectively, to a PC. Feels like I have to give a reward to someone, while punishing the others by not giving rewards to them (honorary mentions might help one person, but might hurt the one that not even mentioned; but maybe it's just me.)
So, I am now using another divide-and-conquer tactics, by spreading this Responsibility of awarding something (and the guilt and the subjectivity and everything else) into the hands of Players too.
Awarding Hero Point: A Vote Introduction Let's face it. This is not fair. And it cannot be said it is fairer than using single person to distribute the reward. So I opted to popularity contest, or simply opting for Democracy instead of Autocracy / Monarchy style. Best Monarchy will outperform Best Democracy by manyfold; but in case anything go wrong, Worst Democracy would still be better than Worst Tyranny.
So in my sessions, I will give rewards of Hero Point by Voting. Each Player may vote a PC that shows good roleplay, or performs well (or outperforms the other PCs). Also, I will ask them, the category and reason of such vote.
Valor Valor represents extra-ordinary bravery, endurance, mettle, and toughness. Showing willingness to take the blunt of combat, endure hardships with stoic and without complaining, these virtues awarded the Valor. In DnD, it is very well represented by Strength and Constitution.
Honor Honor represents kindness, patience, honesty, humility, and noble morale virtues. Showing willingness to opt for peaceful options, to keep word and promises, to act with fairness, polite mannerisms, these virtues awarded the Honor. In DnD, it is very well represented with Wisdom and Charisma.
Wits Wits represents cunningness, adaptability, quickness in thoughts and actions. Showing extraordinary actions that tilt the balance favoring the group, outsmarts enemies, setting up plans and tactics, these virtues awarded the Wits. In DnD, it is very well represented with Dexterity and Intelligence.
The Voting After each PC vote for 1 PC and 1 Virtue, I will then award the Hero Point to a PC who managed to get: a. Most Votes on their PC with similar Virtue. b. Most Votes on their PC.
In case needed, I as GM might cast my vote as well, but it will be done before I ask for vote; and this vote will only be used if there is no clear majority.
In case there is still no winner, then I will not give Hero Point due to [Inconclusive Voting]. However, I hope this is an exception rather than a rule.
Conclusions Using Valor, Honor, and Wits, I can share the burden of responsibility (of awarding Hero Points) with other players, yet still maintaining privacy on who voted for who. Plus, this would give another layer of 'characteristics' at least in my game: The Virtue.

Rewarding Reports
I just realize that now I am faced multiple times with having to 'judge' Reports submitted for the extra EXP and Hero Points. Still thinking that pure subjectivity in rewarding such as this thing will ruin relationship sooner or later, I would like to share how I 'rate' the submitted reports, in order to reduce my subjectivity into smaller parts (thus gaining a more or less objective result).
How I rate reports IN CHARACTER 0~5Yes, this is the important part of my rate. If the report is in the form that is 'make sense' to me, it will be good. A character who do not possess good linguistics / educated background but write properly, who do not posses Craft (Painting) but make good artwork in the reports, do not possess Signet Ring but put a wax seal, etc. will immediately got a huge reduction. Period. APPROPRIATE CONTENTS 0~3This is important as the campaign has its own Rules. Please note that I can tolerate the 'form' of the contents (e.g. 'List of PC' does not come in the form of lists, but by clearly stating the existence of each and every other PCs), but I do not tolerate missed 'important event' or 'Encounter'. Missed encounter / event reduce this score. Impact on my Arc and Campaign 0~2Well, basically this is the afterthoughts part; if from my session there are some changes (or suggestions) from the PC, then I will give it a good score. If not, then not a good one.
PS: I also post it here, so everyone can have a fair chance at least by knowing my preferences.
