This is a place for you to learn about all sorts of Jojo terms and things without spoilers

Vampires:
Jojo vampires aren't like typical vampires in fiction. While they both share their blood sucking abilities and a weakness to sunlight, that's about where most of the similarities end. In Jojo, vampires are created by one of two ways: Another powerful vampire with expert control over their body gives them their blood, or they are 'killed' by an artifact called the stone mask. The stone mask is a special mask that if exposed to blood, will release spikes out of the back of it. If worn by a human when this process occurs, the spikes will hit specific points in the brain and modify them, turning the human into a vampire. A Jojo vampire has several abilities, one of which is converting others into minions when they force the other to consume or circulate their blood. While an average vampire can only turn those who consume it into simple zombies, a skilled on can transform them into fellow vampires. And while normal vampires can only feed through their fangs, a Jojo vampire can feed using any part of their body, typically the fingers by stabbing it into their victim and draining their blood through that appendage. Some other notable abilities of vampires include enhanced strength and senses, high level regeneration, the ability to freeze their own body and transfer the heat loss to another to freeze them, a technique where they can stitch different parts of animals (or humans) together, mastery over their own body, and the ability to inject a normal human with what is known as a flesh bud to control their thoughts and actions.

Zombies:
Zombies in Jojo range from your typical shambling undead, to beings fully capable of thought and appear human, but all are under control of the vampire who made them. Zombies in Jojo simply carry over most of their abilities from life, but some of them gain the ability to create tendrils that suck blood from others. They can be created from anything from a fresh to long dead corpse, and also no longer feel any pain. However, they also share the vampire's weakness to sunlight.

Hamon:
Also known as the Ripple, Hamon was a technique developed to fight vampires, and is identical to the energy from the sun that they are so weak to. Ripple is produced by a specialized breathing method to carry oxygen all throughout the body. Is it said that vampires and zombies slain by a ripple technique temporarily regain their soul just before dying, allowing them one last moment of clarity. The ripple can be channeled into most inorganic objects, but with metals, it tends to simply pass right through it. Liquid, especially oil, is the best medium for hamon. The most powerful hamon techniques are known as Overdrives, and are named after the color of the medium they are channeled through. Training in the art of Hamon also slows down the aging process, making the practicioner appear 20 years younger. However, if blood can not circulate properly, or if a hamon user can not breath in the proper way, their hamon steadily grows weaker and weaker.

Pillarmen:
Pillarmen are super human beings that existed in Aztec times, and closely resemble humans. However, pillarmen have one of more horns on them, typically on the head, and have a weakness to sunlight and hamon energy. Pillarmen are ageless, and typically go into long periods of hibernation when they do sleep. A pillarmen was responsible for creating the stone masks, and while using the stone masks did increase the power of a pillermen, it did not achieve that pillarmen's goal of being immune to sunlight. Pillarmen can manipulate their bodies to degrees far greater than any vampire, have enhanced senses, advanced intelligence, and the ability to absorb living beings for substinance, including vampires. Pillarmen typically have battle styles based off of natural elements.

Red Stone of Aja:
The Red Stone of Aja is an artifact that, when combined with the stone mask, allows pillarmen immunity to sunlight, the ability to use hamon, complete immortality, and the ability to reshape their DNA as they want. However, it can also channel sunlight to ridiculous degrees, making it a useful tool to fight pillarmen and vampires as well ironically.

Stands:
Stands are an ability that are introduced in part 3, and stay a part of Jojo on. Stands, also known as 'evil spirits', 'ghostly ripple', and 'punch ghosts', are said to be a manifestation of one's fighting spirit or life energy, and have a connection to hamon in some way. A stand typically represent's a person's psyche in some way, and can manifest as almost anything. Stands typically are named after tarrot cards, Egyptian dieties, songs, music artists, bands, and albums. Stands normally can only be seen by other stand users. Each stand also possesses a special ability, that can almost be anything. A stand is tied to the user, and typically if one of them dies, the other does as well. Injuries that happen to one of them, for example an arm being cut off, happen to the other in most cases. Stands can range from intelligent and fully sentient to beings that simply follow orders, but they will try to protect their user from all harm in most cases. However, in some cases, a stand can not be controlled by a user, typically if they do not have enough fighting spirit to control it. Controlling a stand is mostly instinctual, but it needs some getting used to in order to control them fully. Typically when a user first gets their stand, they know nothing about it, and unless the stand is sentient enough to tell them, they have to find out their capabilities on their own. Users have to consciously command their stand to attack, disappear, or any major order besides defending. Some people are born with a stand, and others acquire one with an artifact known as the 'bow and arrow'. There are three main types of stand: close range stands, which are stuck very close to the user, but typically are very fast and or powerful, long range stands, which are able to either travel far from their user or use long range attack and typically are weaker than close range stands, and automatic stands, which can go extremely far from their user and are able to act on their own some, but are clunkier and weaker than most stands. There are other types of stands as well: bound stands, which are attached to a specific object and because of it, can be seen by non-stand users; tool stands, which take the form of an object for the user to have, but can not be seen by non-stand users; integrated stands, which simply give the user additional abilities and do not appear themselves; wearable stands, which cover the user like armor and protect them; and evolved stands, which have what are known as multiple 'acts' with each having slightly different abilities and stats.

Bow and Arrow:
The 'bow and arrow' is mainly just the arrow with the bow as a means to fire it, with the arrow containing all of the special properties. Made from meteoric iron, the arrow carries the unique ability to awaken a stand in anyone it hits. However, if the person it hits is not strong enough to withstand the strain of having a stand so suddenly awoken, they will die. Anyone pierced by a stand arrow will also have all of their descendants awaken stands as well. If a arrow pierces a person who has already awoken a stand, their stand will gain a new powerful ability. However, if the arrow pierces a stand, it will cause the stand to enter what is known as a requiem state, where either their power is bolstered to an incredible degree, or their power is inverted and strengthened as well.
