Account Name: MrSandman Character Name: Jedidiah Sulayman Character Alias: Bogeyman Character Race: Undead Revenant Place of Origin: Unknown Character Age: Unknown Character Powers:
Backstory A corpse, a dead body, can return to life occasionally if their will to live is strong enough. Or their will can be paired with something else, some dark force, a bastardization of life, to bring forth a revenant. Revenants are undead who are brought back, and are gifted with abilities far above that of a normal human, and far above that of many superheros. Normally they remember parts of their past life, typically an object of obsession, be it kids, a wife, or something darker, and it is this mental determination that puts them a part from normal ghouls and zombies, who's only drive is to feed. Sulayman's willpower was bonded with some ghastly, gruesome magical, or otherwise, force, forcing him from his eternal unrest, into an even more eternal pursuit of some obsession.
Undead/Revenant Physiology -App.1: Supernatural Strength: As a revenant Sulayman, imbued with strength by whatever un-life force brought him back from beyond, is able to lift and deal damage of a maximum of 4 tons. -App.2: Supernatural Durability: His body is exceptionally durable, able to take just about anything with nary a scratch. He can trade blows with superhumans, and take large amounts of gunfire, both high and low calibre. -Supernatural Dura.: Lvl. 2 -Supernatural Dura.: Lvl.3 -App.3: Supernatural Speed: Whatever abominable force imbued his corpse with life, also bestowed upon it exceptional speed. Able to both react and move at this speed. Max 100 MPH. -App.4: Defunct: As he is basically just a corpse, Sulayman does not breath, have blood flowing through his body, and due to that fact that his body is on the whole dead, does no feel pain. However it is not just the lack of feeling pain, no, it is the total lack of feeling, period. Severed limbs act the same way as if they had not been severed, along with full strength. And he is able to reform himself out of defunct/dead tissue. Fighting him in a graveyard, you're a goner. Meaning this is also a weakness, as he has no idea of knowing whether or not he is, say, on fire, or is missing an arm. -App.5: Necrotic Bolts: Sulayman is able to channel the unlife energy that runs through out into his hands, or anywhere else, to release as a devastating blast of corrupted energy. The bolts cause necrosis, or tissue death, after they hit, and the longer it goes untreated it will reach the muscle and render that limb unusable(the amount of OOCly time it takes for this is around 1 minute for peak-human durability, for beings with Lvl.1 healing factors that time is doubled to 2 minutes, and the necrosis might not even reach the muscle). Unlike normal necrosis, this can be healed and fixed through typical medical means, and healing, though it does not heal quickly in any respect. Typical treatments would be maggots to eat the dead flesh, as you would with real life necrosis. The blasts have no splash damage and are very precise, which is a plus but also a downside as if he misses there is no chance of it, say, erupting out and hitting part of the person. But this is rectified as he is able to control the trajectory, and over all direction, of the bolts up to about 20 feet from him.
Skills & Abilities -Genius Level Intellect: One thing is certain, Sulayman is not just a shambling mass of twisted, forsaken muscle, hellbent on reckless chaos and destruction. Sulayman, or as he prefers to be called Jedidiah, is an exceptionally smart person, possibly smarter in death than he ever could've been in life. Despite his imposing and powerful frame, coupled with his monstrous physicality to match, Sulayman prefers to take a more indirect approach when it comes to vigilante business. Meaning you won't see Sulayman bursting through the wall of the hero's house to try and take them on, nor will you see him charging headfirst into anything. He'd much rather get someone else to do that, the grunt work, for him, preferring to manipulate the dirty business from behind the scenes, either with henchmen or villains of lesser intelligence. Using his brawn before his brains, Sulayman is a formidable opponent to be sure. -Boxing: Expert. Sulayman is not simply an egghead pulling the strings. If need be Sulayman is more than capable of putting his extreme brawn to good use, with his incredible skill in boxing. Being one of the few things that Sulayman remembered from his past life, he has had more than enough time to hone his skills and become a very efficient and dangerous boxer. His skill when it comes to boxing has given him an edge on fighters just as strong, or stronger, as him.
Items/Equipment -Knuckle Dusters: Sulayman is in possession of a pair of massive brass-knuckles, made out of what appears to be a very strong, resilient, metal alloy. The knuckles are able to effectively double the force of his punches. They are giant for others around him, just not for him as they perfectly fit his hands, being as they were custom made to fit him. -Flame Retardant Clothing: Sulayman's clothing is flame retardant, however it offers no protection from temperatures, it just isn't likely to catch on flames. -Sawn-Off Double-barrel Shotgun: Nothing too special about this gun, it's a break-open, durable shotgun. Sulayman uses the shotgun at close range, meaning 10 feet or less, as he is not much of a marksman. Firing slugs, and close range, are a deadly pair, able to inflict damage on people of enhanced dura. and cause bruising to people with superhuman dura. -Wooden Baseball Bat: This is just a very durable baseball bat. Only useful against people of peak human or lower durability, as it is just a wooden bat. And able to take blows of up to enhanced level before shattering.
Weaknesses -No Healing: He does not heal. At all. From anything. Any damage dealt to his body will be permanent. Of course he does not respond to damage in a normal human way, but that does not mean it doesn't happen. If, say, during a fight his Achilles' Tendon is cut. Now with a normal human this would heal after some surgery the body's normal healing process would take over, etc. Not so with Sulayman, his only way to heal from such injuries would be to get a replacement part. Take a big chunk out of his leg with a cleaver, then he had to get replacement tissue, or have a big, movement impairing, hole in his leg. -Fire: Like Frankenstein's Monster before him, the idea of the undead being harmed or at least afraid of fire is an old trope. And it stays true here as well. Sulayman is not so much afraid of fire, but more of being burnt and what fire can do to him, coupled with the fact that he doesn't heal from anything at all, and it makes sense why he would be cautious(bordering on afraid) around fire. Fire is one of the few things that deals unconditional(for the moment at least) damage to him. -Empathy/Compassion: Once upon a time Sulayman was a normal man, and not enough time has passed for his emotions and feelings to fade into non-existence. However feint his emotions are, they do come up occasionally and cloud his judgement, and cause him to(consciously) make his plans fail. This includes a still existing set of morals, such as not murdering or harming children, or pregnant women, not stealing from or making the poor suffer more, etc. He hopes to eventually shed these last remnants of humanity, and no longer be held back by what once was.
