Hardback vs Paperback

Do you prefer Hardbacks or Paperbacks and why? Personally, I prefer hardback and in fact, if it's a favourite book that i'll keep, I seek out the hardcover edition for reasons of endurance.

I read a lot and generally speaking the paperbacks are usually cheaper, so i'll buy paperback if it's my first time reading it. If I genuinely like the book/series, i'll buy the hardback editions to keep and pass on my paperback to friends.
