Retirement is something every athlete must face at some point in their career. Even someone like Roger Federer, who can seem immortal and unbeatable in their primes, eventually start to show their age. So when is the right time for a star athlete to retire? Should it be when they have nothing left to prove, like Michael Jordan did the first two times he retired? Should they retire when they can no longer compete at the level they're known for? Or should they play as long as they can until their skills diminish to the point of not being able to make a roster? When would you decide to retire if you were a superstar athlete? |
