Redeeming Losses; L&A vs. M&S

Ragnal
The scene fades in on a vacant Pitt arena. No audience in attendance, no screw rigging up the show...just a single spotlight shining down on the ring and what it holds inside it. As the camera slowly zooms in we can see a table leaning against the back corner, a steel chair unfolded and placed to the far right side, and a ladder standing tall in the dead center. From either side of the ring comes Muirne and Siobhan, each holding onto their Pitt Tag Team Championship belt. The two rest on either side of the ladder, Muirne resting her back against it while Siobhan leans an elbow onto one of the rungs.

Siobhan: Four shows into the Pitt's existence, and here we are, it's first big PPV special. And much like our last fight, Muirne an' myself have been training hard and getting better.

Muirne: Ain't that right, lass? Go ahead, flex 'em a muscle.

With a grin and a nod, Muirne holds up her arm, showing off the bits of muscle tone she's developed in the time since she's started.

Muirne: Lookit them guns, lads an' lasses. She's gettin' ta be quite the fighter. An' me, I'm learnin' ta get off my feet a little bit more. Jus' don't expect it ta be more than a few feet off tha ground, eh?

Siobhan: And while we're happy with how far we've gotten and thankful for everything Miss Molly's done to help us, we admit we still have our flaws. True, nobody's perfect, especially when it comes to wrestling, but at Blood & Steel Chairs, we have reached an obstacle that, quite honestly, worries us. We had a feeling we'd be coming across it again someday, and...that day is next week.

The Irish tomboy nudges her head towards the steel chair, which Siobhan sits down on, crossing her legs.

Muirne: Appropriate enough fer a show called Blood & Steel Chairs, our first tag title defense against Mercy & Sin involves the dang blasted things. But, it ain't the only allowable object bein' used in tha fight. Cuz we also got ourselves tables...

She nudges towards the table set up over in the corner before eliciting a sigh.

Muirne: And...ladders.

Siobhan: I think...anyone who's paid us attention since our debut knows about this already. Muirne an' I were set to go against the team called Happy Hour, and we were facing off to declare the first ever Pitt Tag Champs...in a ladder match.

Muirne: We did seemingly all right fer ourselves, with at least three quarters of th' match bein' all piss drunk, meself included. Heck, Sheev over there was MOST impressive with some of her own flippy moves.

Siobhan: And now I have a little more to add to the moveset soon.

Muirne: But...then I got knocked inta the ladder...Sheev was knocked off an' through th'announcer table...I get pissed, but before we know it, we lost.

Breathing through her nostrils, she shakes her head. Siobhan also looks away from the camera, breathing deeply.

Muirne: Ya can see why me an' Sheev are a bit worried about this fight, right? Because th' first time we tried to climb a ladder, an' grab these belts-THESE TITLES-

She holds up her half of the Pitt Tag Team belts to the camera, shaking it.

Muirne: Not only did we lose, not only was I squarin' ta give Happy Hour th' boot an' send them back overseas meself fer doin' what they did ta Sheev, not only was I lookin' towards that rematch...but they over celebrate, get in jail, an' then pack up an' leave th' country without even a single title defense. That's...a buncha malarky.

Siobhan: So while we may have bested M&S in a simple hardcore fight, some might think that this should be just as simple a cakewalk. But the truth is, it's not. Because here we are, relivin' the fight that cost us the chance to be Pitt's first tag champions without havin' to say we're the REAL first champions.

Muirne: It sucks. It truly does, that we hafta remind folks that we're the ones still standin', still defendin' our belts, while the other lasses get booted back across th' pond.

Siobhan: To us, Blood & Steel Chairs is where we redeem our first loss in The Pitt. Where we show that we CAN climb the ladder and we CAN overcome the odds we have stacked against us! And...sure, Muirne and myself, we're worried. Maybe a little scared. I know I'm as worried about fallin' from such a height like I did last time.

Muirne: An' I went berserker on 'em fer that.

Siobhan: But it's like a friend said to me this past week while she was healin' herself in the hospital, sometimes that's what bein' brave is all about. Goin' into somethin' scared to death, but actin' despite it. Like smashin' that bottle over Tracy's head before she could hurt my Muirne.

Muirne: An' I was right proud of ya fer that, lass.

The two redheads smile at one another.

Siobhan: When I started trainin' to wrestle, I was worried all the time because I didn't want to get hurt. I'd never suffered an injury my whole life. And sometimes I still worry about that. But I can't keep bein' this scared little girl. It's time we repeat ourselves and show we're not afraid of any team that Pitt can throw our way!

Muirne: Right, like-hang on, can ya hand me yer belt, lass?

Muirne gets off the ladder as the Scotswoman hands her the belt.

Muirne: Like we did last time against the Blob an' Little Miss Gothic. We gave 'em a good arse-kickin' an' showed we ain't a buncha scrubs that don' deserve these belts. An' it felt good that we showed 'em a good what for after all th' comments Abby Sciuto was makin' about me mole!

As Muirne starts to climb the ladder with both belts, Siobhan sits up from the chair, approaching the camera and blocking Muirne out of view.

Siobhan: Becky, Tracy, you gave us a hellish brawl last time. Muirne was pritty happy with that, considerin' she hasn't had a good pub fight in some time. But we still got the better of you two. And at Blood & Steel Chairs, we show that we aren't flash in the pan champions. We'll win our first defense, and send you cryin' back to Angel Kash.

With a smirk, Siobhan turns away and walks towards the ladder, where Muirne is sitting at the very top, having just hung both belts over the ring. The Scotswoman gets up at least a rung or two before her Irish partner speaks.

Muirne: Mercy & Sin, we know yer a big deal, Tracy especially. Th' lass is a bloody roadblock, fer christ sake! But as the standard setters fer the Pitt Tag Champions, we gotta make sure we stay that way. No lettin' the belts fall inta th' wrong hands...that'd be you, sasquatch an' Corpse Bride! So if ya wanna get these belts so badly...

Siobhan: We dare you to get through us first!

And as the camera zooms out on that image, we slowly fade out.
