MalAdroit
[Fade into the the office at Ziggy's Gym. It would appear to be early morning as there as no sounds of customers working out yet. We find owner Mallory Adroit fresh off her personal morning workout sitting behind the computer at her desk in a sky blue spandex leotard. Sipping from a water bottle and wiping leftover sweat from her forehead as the Pitt cameraman enters.]

Cameraman: Excuse me, Ms. Adroit. I've been asked to find out what you have to say about upcoming WildKard title shot against Hannah Kristian on the next Jump Into The Pitt.

Mallory: Oh sorry. Didn't see you there. I was miles away. And please no need to be formal. Call me Mallory.

Cameraman: Very well, Mallory. Are you sure you're up for this match. When we last saw you at Blood & Steel Chairs, you were in a punishing match against Kijo. And that ugly black mist? I still don't quite know what to make of that. But knowing Kijo, I can't imagine it did you any favors.

[Mallory releases a sort of seething sigh behind her teeth before answering.]

Mallory: Oh not to worry. I've had some recovery time to prepare for this match. No lingering physical pain. But I have to be honest. I haven't felt quite myself since that night. I can't sleep. I've been having horrible nightmares. Honestly, I'm suprised I'm functional these days.

Cameraman: The mist?

Mallory: Yes. That horrible, awful mist. Imagine trying to go to sleep and suddenly you find yourself in a scenario from The Walking Dead. Only it's your family members shambling after you that you must destroy in order to stay alive. You wake up safe in the arms of the one you love. But he still looks zombified to you. You go into your daughter's nursery and even that precious little baby looks ghostly to you. There just aren't words to describe the horrorscape that mist creates in your mind.

[She clutches her face just describing such images.]

Cameraman: Are you sure then you can even handle the task of facing Hannah Kristian for the WildKard title?

Mallory: All I know is I'm going to have to. I know there are some who might look crossways at Hannah and the WildKard title. Like it was a consolation prize or a joke belt. I know better. I remember the original WildKard belt in ACE and how important that belt was. There were some real battles for that belt. And I know how much it especially meant to my dear friend, Melinda Rhodes. Who looked at that belt like her baby. How she made the WildKard title something special and how those who followed her as holders elevated it all the more. That means Hannah Kristian has a lot to live up to as The Pitt's version of the WildKard champion.

Cameraman: Sounds like it.

Mallory: That also means there are two things that can happen come Jump Into The Pitt and that main event match for the WildKard title. I can either help her live up to that belt's legacy. Or I can show that she's not quite the woman for that title and take it from her.

Cameraman: Do you really think that's the case though?

Mallory: I don't know. Let's not get things twisted here. I don't mean to sound like I have a problem with Hannah Kristian or believe she's a substandard wrestler. The talent pool Mr. DeBlanc has built is solid and I know he wouldn't have brought Hannah Kristian on board if he didn't believe she could go. And from the interactions I've had with Hannah, I like the woman. In fact, let me give you some friendly advice to share with her.

Cameraman: Okay. Sounds good. What's that?

Mallory: Hannah, when you arrive at the arena for Jump In The Pitt, do not rent Angel Kash too much space in your mind. The days of Mallory Adroit showing up, laying down, and being an easy win are long since over. You let Angel steal your focus away from me, you'll be three little seconds away from being an ex-champion. Remember that.

Cameraman: Sounds like sage advice.

Mallory: Oh and a little thought for Angel Kash.

Cameraman: Okay.

Mallory: Angel, sweetie, I heard what you were saying about Hannah Kristian and her Scandanavian background last Jump In The Pitt. With that thought in mind, let me show you something.

[Mallory beckons the cameraman to follow her as she gets from the desk and throws open the office door. The camera giving us a wide panorama shot of the empty gym.]

Mallory: Take a good look out there, Your Highness. Every exercycle. Every stair climber. Every last speed bag. They are out there because of a great man by the name of Mariusz Kowalewicz. My great grandfather who came to this country from Krakow, Poland to escape the horrors of World War 2. So the next time you start to open your mouth and talk smack about Hannah's immigrant background, do yourself a favor. Shut it again. If you say another discouraging word about immigrant bloodlines, you gonna have

[Mallory points deep and hard at her own chest.]

a very angry fourth generation Pole looking for you. And the state my mind's in these days, I can not promise you my actions will be anywhere near as pretty as the reflection you see in your mirror, Princess.

Cameraman: Wow. You mean business.

Mallory: Well, who has the energy to pussy foot around? Sleep deprivation is a hell of a condition.

[With that thought, we fade to black.]
