The scene fades into a lounge. In the centre of the room sits a mahogany desk, surrounded by a three-piece suite. On the table sits a bowl of fruit, and next to it a bottle of sparkling water. Sprawled across the microfibre sofa is Jessica Anderson, who has her fingers interlocked and her hands rested upon her head. The petite brunette sits up slightly and reaches for a sip of water. She tightly fastens the lid back onto the bottle, and slides it across the desktop. Jessica: Honestly – I'm not surprised. There are people who are paid thousands of pounds a month to book professional wrestling matches, because that is what makes the difference between an average show and a great show. I'd have hoped that whoever is left in charge of the booking for the Pitt would have had a little more creativity. You have a Scotswoman and an Englishwoman which you can book in any way you so please – so what do you do? You book them against each other to try and get some cheap hype. The Englishwoman shakes her head in disgust – a scowl appearing across her features. Jessica: England and Scotland have a rivalry dating back to before the birth of Christ. In 122 AD, Hadrian's Wall was constructed from coast-to-coast, to keep the Scots out of England. This rivalry is revived whenever the two proud nations face off in sporting competitions – which is certainly helped by the fact that England vs. Scotland is the oldest international football fixture, first contested in 1872. So the easy choice would be for the Pitt to book their own from of this international fixture, but it wouldn't necessarily be the best way. Jessica sits up further and places her feet flat on the carpeted floor. Jessica: Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it won't be a good match. It will – after all, it is called Great Britain for a reason, and there's certainly more to it than meagre national pride. But both myself and Siobhan McAdams have a Tag Team Championship bout to prepare for. Surely, with the title match in mind, it would make a lot more sense to keep us as far apart from each other as possible. Because things could get heated, and with Legs and Arse's tendency to end up injured, would you really want to risk us trying to take each other out, and potentially risk ruining the upcoming tag team match? That doesn't particularly seem like a smart booking decision to me. Anderson lets out a tut, accompanied by a slight tilt of the head. Jessica: Take the last show as an example. Okay fair enough, Muirne Butler made my partner, Michelle Taylor, tap out – but she certainly didn't leave the ring the same way she entered it. Her leg isn't exactly in the best of conditions right now, and if something were to happen to Siobhan in our match this week, then their chances of retaining their titles would be severely diminished. Is that really good for business? Once more, Jessica shakes her head as she reaches for a red grape, which she quickly throws into her mouth. Jessica: I know that if I were in charge, I certainly wouldn't want anything to potentially compromise my special events. But alas, it is what it is. I could try and speak some sense into the powers that be, but this company is owned by a lunatic that has set a bounty on his own Champion's head. Instead, I'll just have to go ahead with the match and try my best to make sure that I don't rough up Siobhan too much – because it would be a damn shame if the Champions both happened to be injured in the build-up to their all-important Championship defence. Neither myself or Michelle would want to win the titles and have our opponents play down our achievement by claiming to have been at a disadvantage. Anderson chuckles to herself, as she takes another sip of water. Jessica: Look, it's quite simple. This week, I will defeat Siobhan and I will then go on to defeat whoever stands in my way of becoming a Champion in this company. Siobhan, defeat won't be something you'll enjoy all too much – in fact, you'll probably consider it 'pish' – but it's something you'd better grow accustomed to. Because as long as I have any say in the matter, I will make sure that in just a few weeks you will never win another match for the Tag Team Championships again. It's nothing personal – well, it is a little bit. But I'm not here for pettiness. I'm here to prove that, once again, I am the greatest wrestler in the Pitt. Who knows – maybe I'll have a bounty placed on my head when DeBlanc can't find anybody capable of beating me. Jessica lies back down on the couch, but only after making one final statement. Jessica: This week marks the start of a new era in the Pitt. The era of Jessica Anderson – it just so happens that miss McAdams is the first to fall victim to it! The scene fades. |
