to your point of getting caught while smuggilng or pirating: bribe the Police. Thats the easiest way to avoid danger. |

Strange. I've been flying the omicrons, omegas, sigmas, and taus for a while, trading between pirate bases and freeports, and I've not been able to score one wreck yet, and I check them daily when I'm making my runs. If you're convinced it's feasible, then more power to you. I'll even fly tactical support to ward off pirates when available. Now, I've got to rebut the assertion that I'm hungry for PVP. It interests me no more than smuggling, running errands for other PCs, or what have you. It goes with the territory, the faction, and it's pretty much unavoidable. In fact, I'm not very good at it, to be honest. At least not yet, I haven't played much MP, but I intend to play my Junker characters as I understand the Junker way-all of which I've learned from base descriptions and in-game info NPCs on junker, rogue, etc., bases. Now, I will quite readily agree that there's risk involved. I accept the risk, hell, I revel in it. The game wouldn't be any fun without it. I've become quite adept at running, actually. I'm the frickin' Han Solo of rabbiting. Eight god damned corsairs (TBH, Benitez, and some non-clan affiliates) caught me at the Camebridge-New London Hole, tagged with CDs, and demanded coin. Bugger that, though, Granny Hazel don't give in so easy. Mayhap THB just utterly suck at PVP, but I got away with less than 1/3 damage done to my tranny's shield. LH, HF, and affiliate Hacker aligned in Magellan, same thing. They were going nuts trying to get one of my characters to stop for tax, but they couldn't get me. Didn't interrupt my tradeing runs at all. Made them a little longer, but, didn't stop me-couldn't. The [HF] boy almost did, when I ducked through the Magellan-Manchester hole, then the Manchester-Leeds hole, he was a sly one, but no joy. Cops can't catch me either. As for smuggling, well, desperate times call for desperate measures, or mayhap you just want the thrill-my characters don't smuggle, so much as they trade between pirate and freeport bases. I guess you can call that smuggling, in a sense, as it's still usually contraband. As for piracy, well, I've outlined my ideas. |

Ok as my junker I fly around mine things search for ship wrecks and sometimes smuggle. Its fun and I think its something a junker would do. But I would like to interact with the PC criminals to run some contraband or be a lookout for big train of cardamine coming in or something. Don't forget also junkers do work with the police and sometimes turn in criminals if its to their advantage so we can RP with liberties finest as well. "Eight god damned corsairs (TBH, Benitez, and some non-clan affiliates) caught me at the Camebridge-New London Hole, tagged with CDs, and demanded coin. Bugger that, though, Granny Hazel don't give in so easy." I am suprised you got attacked with a junker tag. I rolled right up to Crete when the Corsair PCs had their big ships out asked for permission to dock and it was granted. Same with the UOG. I always announce myself when I am heading to Arranmore. |

Nice, really nice thats how the junky way of live is working! I can't add anything to those great ideas and can't think about critisism. |

The corsairs were on foray into Bretonian space, and I just happened to hit a spot of bad luck, I guess. Despite being a junker, with a pirate ID, gunning a Firefly seemingly automatically makes you a target. Didn't register to them, when I replied, truthfully, that I was running light arms to Leon. Can't really explain it, though, a half hour later, one Benitez PC still in Camebridge, when I passed through, was whining and comaplaining about "traders just saving up to be cap whores", and how he'd "tax everyone carrying cargo". I'm getting bored with the Corsairs. The RoS/101st/202nd/etc are much more enjoyable company. Outcasts on Discovery just seem to have much better manners.

If you submit your ID, announce your intentions and ask permission to dock, you will always be granted. |
