Character Creation and Rules:

Characters created within this RPG are meant to be interesting with deep traits and story lines. That is not to say simple characters aren’t permitted or welcome. We embrace all character types but enjoy the player base being deeply rooted within the RPG.

Rules:

- Characters must abide by the set Height, Weight, and Length measurements set forth in the Field Guide, these are the maximum sizes allowable for the time being.
- "Sue" characters are strictly prohibited. "Sue" characters are defined as:
“A fanfiction character who is so perfect as to be annoying.”
- The requirements for color changes and size mutations, must be adhered to and will be introduced with the point system being approved by members and implemented by staff. (TBA)
- Character biographies can be altered at any time by re-posting the original profile with its new edits. Characters resubmitted do not need to be re-approved.
- Associated characters can be listed in the biography section by placing a link to the profile in the bio. Also, mention details about the relationships in both profiles to help associate the dinosaur characters.

Application Explanation:

Character’s Name:
- Give your dinosaur a name, it can be very human or very "not human," the choice is yours. Here’s a helpful website for finding a name:
Behind The Name Website

Species:
- All available species are listed in Field Guide .

Gender:
- Dinosaurs can only be one of two sexes, they are animals after all

Age:
- This is also pretty simple but the only considerations to be made are that a very young dinosaur or a very old dinosaur might not be as interesting to Role Play as, of course I’m sure many people could do so.

Height:
- The Vade Mecum lists the maximum proportions

Length
- The Field Guide lists the maximum proportions

Weight:
- The Field Guide lists the maximum proportions

Description/ Coloration:
- Describe any physical attributes, like scars or markings, in this section. Also the coloration which is set in the Field Guide but can be slightly modified, to an extent such as a darker shade of green for example, to make your character slightly unique.

Biography:
- This is the story of your Character's life thus far, it can be as detailed as you want or as simple as possible, the choice is yours. It can be edited in the future!

This is my original Live the Legend character. I am posting him here as and example of a submitted profile.

Name: Kaiser
Species: Carnotaurus sastrei
Gender: Male
Age: 9 Years
Height: 8 ft
Length: 25 ft
Weight: 2000 Lbs
Coloration: Chalky white in open, well lit areas. Most usually coloration pattern is a “Fern Green” with nearly black leopard like spots radiating from the center of his back and fading as they come closer to his belly.
Bio: A long span of time has elapsed since Kaiser’s disappearance from the Worker Village. The death of his mate, in the jaws of a roving Tyrannosaur, seemed to have driven him away from his usual territory. His travels since are unknown but his return brings with it a new threat to the Worker’s Village.

Enjoy!

Name: Scorpion
Species: Dilophosaurus "venenifer"
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 10 ft
Length: 22 ft
Weight: 395 pounds
Description/Coloration: A dark olive green, with green blotches and a dull red and yellow mottled frill. His white stripes have faded due to old age. He is missing some teeth, along with one of his right claws, and has multiple scars covering his body.
Bio: Scorpion grew up alone, without any parents, in the worker's village. Somehow he managed to survive into adulthood, mostly by hiding from the larger predators, and often by using his venom stench to mark his territory inside the Operations Building to scare off any predators. He has gotten into many fights throughout his life, leaving him multiple scars, but also leaving his enemies with multiple scars. Even now, although growing old, Scorpion will still mark his territory often, and sticks around the worker's village. Although he often ventures out to hunt, he usually stays within the Deep Channel region. He is feisty and defensive, and isn't afraid to fight back any intruders in his territory. If they're not in the Operations Building (his territory), however, they're not his problem.

Name: Caiman
Species: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus
Gender: Female
Age: 9 years
Height: 18 feet (top of head), 25 feet (top of sail)
Length: 60 feet
Weight: 9 tons
Description/Coloration: Same as male, except the reddish tint is fainter and the patterns on the sail are yellow instead of blue. The yellow becomes more apparent when she is in breeding condition.
Bio: Caiman is a simple spinosaur with a simple life. She follows wherever the river takes her, catching prey whenever hungry, doing all the normal spinosaurus things. She has swam around the entire island multiple times, so she knows her surroundings. She usually tends to stay out of trouble, but will gladly attack a dinosaur smaller than her for food, or - in some cases - for fun.

Name: Nerva.
Species: Tyrannosaurus.
Gender: Female.
Age: Sub-adult ... about 7-and-a-half years old.
Height: 11 feet.
Length: 27 feet.
Weight: 1 tonne.
Description/Coloration: Typical color sets; brown mottling with a cream-color belly and light black stripes. She has a special characteristic -- discolored eyes.
Bio: Nerva began life with a nest of siblings and her parents to raise her. She learned to hunt, fight, and how to distinguish scents. The scent of her Mother was particularly fond to her. One day, her father vanished. The years went by, and many of Nerva's siblings died. She was the last one. Nerva and her Mother romped the island of Sorna together, moving from place to place, engaging in typical Tyrannosaurus activities like eating, sleeping, killing, fighting, and terrorizing the populace.
By now, Nerva is a natured adolescent, very familiar with the inner core of the island. She has become a lethal predator.

Lost my biography for Coronet--my original rex--so back with Rook we go.

Name: Rook
Species: Tyrannosaurus rex
Sex: Male
Age: 20
Coloration: Tealer shade of green and slightly more vibrant yellow and black stripes (less exaggerated Bull rex TLW toy for reference)
Height: 15 feet
Weight: 5.5 tons
Length: 38 feet
Territory: Low elevation of the Northern Mountain ranges and game trail
Biography: Rook was the last Rex bred by InGen before their evacuation from the island. Due to having no period to adjust and be nurtured by humans or other rexes, Rook acquired an aggressive and defensive demeanor as required to survive in the harsh jungles of the island. As such--as well as being a loner growing up--Rook became a formidable hunter and fighter. Arguably the best on the island, although he could be bested by other super predators and dangerous herbivores, in the right situation. Exceptionally territorial, Rook rarely tolerates any trespassers, even females of his own kind unless absolutely necessary during breeding season for example. His kingdom is slightly higher elevation than the norm for his species. Choosing the northern mountain range through a portion of the game trail.

I'll do another species or two pending OOC conversations.

MissDNA

Name: Hexen
Species: Ceratosaurus nasicornis
Gender: Female
Age: 8
Height: 12 ft
Length: 30.5 ft
Weight: 1.7 ton
Description/Coloration: Chocolate brown body with a darker brown head. Beige brown stripes start by the neck and run down the tail.
Bio: A female Ceratosaurus in her prime, Hexen is currently a loner bound by no territory. Careful around larger predators - and larger herbivores - akin to the rest of her species, Hexen is still sure to assert her dominance around smaller carnivores. Just because she's not suicidal doesn't mean that she is a wimp.
Often seen prowling in more overgrown areas, she seem to favor the surroundings of the Aviary, following the Deep Channel and the more waterlogged areas of the west. There she often hunts smaller herbivores by ambush, with Dryosaurus being an old favorite of hers.

I'd like to create an NPC character to be my primary character's mother. Do I fill out the submission sheet as I would for a normal character?

Yes. Thank you for pointing out I didn't specify this in my NPC rules. Every question answered is helpful in clarifying things for new players. Thanks again.

Gender: Female.
Age: 21 years.
Height: 15 feet.
Length: 41 feet.

Name: Keratin
Species: Triceratops horridus
Gender:Male
Age:Adult
Length: 35 feet
Height: 15 feet
Weight: 10 tons
Color: Standard
Biography: Keratin was one of the first Triceratops bred on the island and has grown into one of the largest specimens. Extremely aggressive, like all Trikes, Keratin only tolerates other Triceratops or occasionally other herbivorous species if they do not cause irritation. It is wise to give him a wide berth if you cross in front of his poor vision as he will charge if he senses any sort of risk--which is most of the time. Battle-tested and hardened he has fought his share of rexes and Velociraptors--nevertheless he isn't what some would call a rex killer or raptor slayer. He prefers to roam around the various lowlands of the island except the marshy areas and the raptor infested Worker's Village.

Weight: 220 pounds
Description/Coloration: Bright-ish orange body with faint black stripes and pale white underbelly. Eyes are greenish yellow with slitted pupils.
Bio: He had a traumatic life growing up, and now is spooked easily. He wanders the island most of his time, taking shelter when he can, and constantly on the lookout for other velociraptors to form a pack with.
