Not exactly blockbuster news but Jean's husband Ollie Walters is coming back for a brief stint. It'll be nice to see Jean get a bit of focus for once and see what happened to their marriage, but I hope it isn't yet another case of a Slater woman being mistreated by a man. Perhaps Ollie being an ex-police officer and his strict morals in comparison to Jean's relatives became a bit much? I don't think we ever saw him learn that Stacey was a killer, did we? That could have caused some interesting tension. Of course, learning about Kat's faked death could have been the nail in the coffin. As long as it's not Ollie turning abusive or a cheat, I'm quite intrigued- if rather sad that Jean's happy ending has disintegrated.

Like Alfie, I'm not particularly interested in Ollie but I'm pleased that we're seeing the final chapter play out on screen rather than being kept to an off screen event.

I'm glad we're seeing Ollie again but I will be upset when they inevitably have him and Jean split up. They were a nice pairing and he was a nice character so I hope it ends that way too.

I always liked Ollie. I hope they still keep him as the nice guy he was and not change his personality to facilitate a break up between him and Jean. It's a shame we haven't actually seen much of their relationship as it was a nice change for Jean's character.

Just been reading back the last few pages, and the news about June Brown apparently refusing to sign a new contract saddens me considering I was only asking when Dot was back a few hours ago. A shame if true.

This was such a strong scene, it was seeped in history as the genre should have been and for me it was the last time I truly enjoyed Dot as a character. Her material last year wasn't all that strong and it does seem as though June's disinterest began to transpire through her performances.

She's a nostalgic face for the audience, definitely. She's a soap icon and I do hope June reconsiders, if only to give her Dot an on-screen exit.

Although, did Lorraine Stanley not say something in an interview the other week about how she loved working with June. Either she’ll do a Steve McFadden and just disappear until she gets what she wants. Or it’ll turn out to be false and she’ll just turn up in an episode.

I'm not a Dot fan but I think she deserves her big goodbye.

Dot's big goodbye practically writes itself, it'd be a shame not to see it.
