The greatest thing about the show at the moment is that even if the spoilers themselves sound, on paper, rather generic and dull I know I'm probably going to enjoy about 95% of the material when it translates on-screen. The characterization and the pacing of the show has improved so much lately that even "Mel tries to blackmail Phil" will at least provide some good moments.

Excited for anything about Denise and Kim at the moment. They're both wonderful characters at the moment with a lot of depth and heart. Kim's story is especially intriguing and I can't wait to see where it leads to. I'm hoping it gets quite dark, as I'm enjoying seeing Tameka take on some more serious stuff.

Re Mel, it'd be nice if we revisit that kiss but I'm always up for her taking down Phil anyway. Just hope it doesn't blow back up in her face as he deserves this strong female rival to kick him up the arse. REALLY hoping this feud somehow brings us back to Lisa Fowler. It'd be jarring if she isn't back within the year, if I'm honest.

I never liked Masood but isn't it just so irritating that he's being overused NOW during his time as a comedy character but that when he was actually a viable character with at least some dramatic potential, he was so underused? A tragic imbalance that really nailed shut that coffin of whether I'd ever find him interesting or not.

Monday 11th June 2018
Kim thinks she's uncovered a new clue when she finds out that Vincent cleared out Pearl's savings. She heads to the police station in the hope that it could help with the investigation into Vincent's disappearance.

Kim is shocked when the police tell her that they've found an unidentified body which matches Vincent's description. Will it be him?

Later, Kim suffers a shock collapse.

Meanwhile, Stuart arrives back at the Queen Vic after Linda has called him to help cheer Mick up. Mick ends up stealing Stuart's phone as a prank, but Stuart's extreme reaction to the situation leaves Mick confused.

Elsewhere, Ian infuriates Masood by deciding to go to an event without him. Masood gets his revenge by reporting the chippy to environmental health, claiming there are rats in the building.

Also today, Mel finally starts to doubt whether Hunter is telling the truth. When Mel visits Louise, she's shocked as Louise tells her everything.

Mick questions Stuart about what he found on his phone. How will Stuart explain himself?

Meanwhile, Kim has a scan after her collapse and is assured that the baby is fine.

Elsewhere, although Hunter admits his lies to Mel, he still denies taking the money. Hunter gets frustrated when Mel struggles to believe him and he later blames Louise for exposing his secrets to his mum.

Later on, Mel threatens Phil by warning that she could tell Sharon about their kiss. Phil is so spooked that he eases the pressure on Mel over the missing money, telling her that she can pay it out of her wages for the next two years. However, Sharon has her own plans as she tells Phil that Hunter stole the money.

Also today, Arshad and Masood want to get close to businessman Habib Hussein. They decide to go through his daughter by contacting her through a dating website.

Whilst it doesn't look blockbuster amazing on paper, there's still elements of this week that intrigue me. I'm a huge fan of many of the characters featured this week so they're enough to keep me hooked even if the material doesn't sound that great on-paper.

I'm looking forward to giving this week a chance!

Very excited by the Kim/ Patrick/ Denise material. With Vincent removed, we not only have an exciting story for the wonderful Tameka to sink her teeth into but we also have a unit solely composed of brilliant characters. Great to see Patrick involved again.

Also intrigued by the missing money story from the club, probably because the characters involved are far better than those from the heist story but also because I have a theory that Louise stole the money to help Lisa (wild I know but I can dream) and that it will lead to Lisa's return. Regardless, I care about Mel and Hunter and the whole Sharon strand sort of excites me too if it contributes to the ongoing breakdown of her relationship with Phil.

This is such a good idea! Thank you both for taking the time to do this.

It looks like a decent week, if there’s plenty of Kim, Denise and Patrick then I’m happy.
