Kim and Denise were the best part of the episode. I'm really pleased they've given Kim some strong material as these two could be future icons of EastEnders. They're already recognisable to casual viewers as individual characters and as a duo. Diane has got that raw talent and is capable of powerful performances while Tameka is naturally hilarious but also steps it up for the drama, the two actresses have great chemistry and really compliment each other. I'd love to see the family expanded. Bring back Emerald and have the Fox family history explored properly. I'd love the Fox name to be up there with Mitchell, Slater, Watts, Branning etc. My other favourite scene was the one with Sharon and Kush. Sharon is perfect as mother hen and shoulder to cry on for the whole square, she's a completely different character when she's away from Phil. The Dennis mention was nice as well. Bonnie Langford continues to be brilliant. I really hope she's remembered for this story in years to come. This is why I find it a shame that they don't do EastEnders Revealed anymore. People are so familiar with Angie & Den's divorce and You Ain't My Mother etc. because they were constantly repeated on these types of shows. Now, unless you go on YouTube, new viewers won't ever see Ian finding out Lucy is dead, Janine watching the sunrise as Lydia dies, Whitney and Kat's (sort of) two hander, Kush and Shabnam grieving for Zaair or any other phenomenal scenes that have happened over the last 5 years or so. I'm still unsure about Mel and Jack. I find Scott Maslen's performances put me off the character but I still don't mind his presence. The inevitable arrival of Ray is exciting so hopefully it'll provide some strong material for this unit and I can finally invest in them. Edited by Bad Wolf, Jun 5 2018, 07:17 PM.
