It's good for families to get their message across, but not during an episode of a drama,

I'm cringing.

I don't know what's wrong with me right now, but I've done a massive 180 in like the space of 10 seconds.

This sounds terrible.

I don't know if anybody watched it but last year, the BBC aired a harrowing drama Three Girls centred around the real life Rochdale grooming and sexual abuse scandal. They followed that drama up with a documentary further exploring the Rochdale case called The Betrayed Girls which also examined the stories. The drama and the documentary were kept separate. Both received critical acclaim. Why aren't the BBC employing that same approach here? ^o)

Stacey's postpartum psychosis was all bells and whistles, sound effects and camera trickery (when Lacey was more than capable of carrying the story without the need for such techniques) but even as recently as two years ago, the show was aware that the 'real life' stuff should be kept separate from the show.

This is the first time since the conclusion of the heist storyline I've just been majorly bemused. It's hopefully a blip and it'll be back to normal service afterwards and the stabbing storyline up until now has been fantastic. I just don't see why they couldn't continue that good work through the medium of drama and soap rather than documentary style inserts.

At first when I saw the headline on Twitter I thought it was going to be Carmel and Kush attending a support group and we see the stories being told through that - I think that would've been a much more natural way of executing the idea rather than what it sounds like we're actually getting.

It all sounds too much like having a pamphlet being shoved into our hands. To take us out of the action completely, for me, really goes against what this show can do at its absolute best.

It reminds of when Emmerdale had random people who were never in the show on their opening credits for years.

Bex definitely has the worse dress sense in the show.

I’ve sort of accepted this is happening now, so it won’t annoy me as much when it does.

Duncan Lindsay on Twitter has stated that the "real-life people" are part of the narrative, indicating that they won't be taking us out of the story.

I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll enjoy this perhaps more than expected.
