EE is a drama/soap not a documentary so I'm not sure I like the sound of this but I'll reserve judgement until I see it.

I feel slightly better about this now it seems like we'll be getting to hear the stories via Carmel's attendance at a support group rather than what I was picturing before (the episode being stopped in its tracks for talking head stories)

Once upon a time the show would have had the confidence and conviction to portray the message themselves rather than inserting documentary inserts into the episode to get the message across. It really showed the show up imo. The real life stories were touching and I did find myself tearing up but the show should have and could have achieved that reaction itself if they'd put more effort into their own story. You Ain't My Mother didn't feature inserts of women talking about child abuse nor did Stacey's bipolar feature clips of people suffering from mental illness.

This is where BBC Three is really missed as the real life tales could have been included in a documentary proceeding the episode if it were still on air rather than infiltrating the episode itself.

I agree with you. EE has a cast of strong actors what they need is great scripts for them to put the drama across.
