those floppy disks still work too ^^ they're completely useless because they're incomparable with everything @_@ but they still function as they should :D, had that computer for about 20 years and it still works like new!

Today I found in my house a memory card for 100 Megs about the size of my hand! =D

I've done both Windows and Macs, and Macs are alright, but their big shtick is that they're meant for people who don't know what to do with a computer, and ... they're right.

They are quite shiny and souped-up, I will grant, but you're paying for it. Garageband, vid-editors, and all their other apps and pre-installed programs are included, but not free. Which is why they're so expensive. I can soup up my computer on my own, therefore, I do not need to pay the price of those who do not know how or cannot be bothered.

Free, no. Cost as much as after market programs of their ilk? Not so much, either.
....
Pretty!
(though it's also true that I ran my ibook for seven years after getting it used and only once having to really repair anything - which considering the abuse I put it through...)

i've also seen they use up bigger files o.o

files that would save for a few KB saves like as more MB o.O
i dunno if it has to do with the program they use of what....a simple document of 1 page or so, shouldn't be so large if all it has is text O_O

might have been that one computer? i dunno, i have limited examples, but that's what i've seen :T

It also depends on what the file actually stores. It might not simply store the text as it is shown, but might also store every edit you ever made to the text. Some programs do that, which can be very embarrassing if someone tries viewing the history embedded in the file and you wrote things you oughtn't have.

Heh. This is true.
And I really don't know Kari

I used 'TextEdit' saving my documents in rtf until/except when using Scrivener now and even at like 80+ space-and-a-half pages one is only 155 Kb
