It was on the evolution of galleys, actually- very interesting, but it covered too long a span of time (several hundred years). ...I don't get the kitchen sink reference...

Hmm, did galleys change so much, so fast, that hundreds of years is really too long? We're talking big rowboats here, right? How much innovation can there be? (Hey, I just noticed you can't spell rowboats without robots; and it sounds similar! I wonder if there are three laws of rowboatics.) http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/everything+but+the+kitchen+sink |

*snicker* No, they haven't changed much- I really only found five or six different 'types' in the progression, as it were. And I did end up emailing my teacher about it, and she said it was okay (I guess she just put the year restriction in there to keep people from making their seriations too long and too varied). |

Do larger galley's have a galley? And since when did the term for a type of watercraft become also the word for the area where food preparation and eating occurred on other different watercraft? |

I doubt your dining room is 40m to a side. Maybe 40 square meters, but even that seems a bit large for a normal dining room. |

And ours is a lot smaller than 'normal' I have little doubt. Still, we've gotten eight around the table at once so it could be worse. |
