I'm not sure I'd want to share living space with a squid that size. Even if I made it myself.

In other news I finally really started on NaNo (and with a story I really didn't intend to use and not even the germ of which existed before yesterday!). Up to all of 3,000 words or so.

You're doing NaNo too? Yay!!!
I don't think I have you as a writing buddy though. *checks* What's your username over there?

Same as here actually Elys: TheDeepDark.
The user thumbnail is an idiot in a hoodie standing next to a buoy on a frozen lake (myself).

Yay, another friend to crack the whip on me! ^___^

Added you as a buddy. ^_^ Though I don't know how good I'd be for cracking a whip.
I'm rather surprised that I'm currently ahead, considering being in college and all. I got this great big plotline idea all just had to come out. Once it runs out, though, then I'll have some worry.

Ahead nothing 0.0

You may not have to crack the whip, just keeping being so ridiculously ahead and the mere shame of having my minimal effort at all connected to your incredibleness will force me to keep going or hide from the world.

Wow.

I thought I was doing pretty good starting on the 5th, but … just wow Elys. /humble-worship

Uhh...thank you? :$ At least I'm motivating you to write....
Just wait 'till I hit the end of my story though- it's looking to finish up several thousand words short. I'll probably end up writing a long prologue (following the main character's mother through the events that happened 12 years before the story starts) and an epilogue (about I don't know what, since I'm not entirely sure yet how I'm ending my story plotline).

That's better than okay.

I am so pantsing this that I have three groups I'm following without the foggiest idea how to tie them together. Nor do I have an idea yet what the main conflict of the story is (or what, if any, antagonist). I have vague ideas that have been slowly solidifying as I go, but that's all.

That's fine, really. It's not so different than how I am. I have a vague plot, but usually I have no idea of what's going to happen next until the day that I'm supposed to write it. I spend the morning (between classes, and such) playing around with ideas, and then in the evening (which is when I normally do my writing), I sit down and go with the one that seems to flow most naturally from what I already have. Of course, sometimes, it's still rather awkward or slow and dragging, or whatever, but it's getting words down on the paper.
And if you really have hit a brick wall... just do something like make a bright flash that drops all three groups together, and then their next conflict/plot is figuring out who/what did that. Or do a nice long time skip, and figure out what happens during it later (through flashbacks or something). *shrug* As long as you can work with it and it keeps the story moving.

That is definitely somewhere I want to visit Kari.

And Elys and towr - Thank you.
Though towr… I started pulling from the 4th Ed. D&D universe (at least at first) for this one and not really sure how a train would be there…
I'll keep you in mind though. ^__^
