I'd rather not the risk of taking an insulin shot on top of that.

Fun fact:
Writing a novel is hard.
I'm at a point now where I'm not worried about reaching my word count (still 8,000 shy of 50). No the problem is that I am not 8,000 words from the end. Or an end. Or a cliff-hanger to lead into the sequel.

I know how that goes. >.<
The one time I actually won NaNo, I hit the 50,000 word mark, and went, "But I haven't resolved anything, or even figured out where I'm trying to take this thing!" ;-; That story was seriously 5% plot, 20% description, and 75% internal dialogue/reflection.
This time, I'm hopeful of actually finishing the story- I can see an ending and a vague pathway there. It'll probably end somewhere around 60-65k words (and sometime in May :sweatdrop: ), but I'm going to do my best to make myself finish it.

Thanks Kari.

And keep at it Elys. Worst thing to do from here would be to not finish it.

No, a worse thing would be killing everybody that knows about it so they won't notice you not finishing it.

Killing everyone would be lots harder than finishing, I think :P
(especially since I don't know where any of you live)

Now that I've hit 50k (yay!), I just might have to put it on hold a few weeks, because after Thanksgiving is finals crunch time, and school takes first priority (that was why I wanted to finish it before/during the break, actually). :ermm:
I have the ideas though, so I might just do a little bit of mapping out to the end, and then finish writing over Christmas break. If it doesn't expand on me yet again. I had originally envisioned this at somewhere around 20k words.

So, now that national novel writing month is nearly over, when is national novel editing month? :P

Way to keep us humble towr :P

Seriously though, I need a good editor. Realizing that most of my stories will be about half as long as they currently are once an editor has gotten to them.

Such is, oddly enough, a good thing.

Turns out NaNoEdMo is actually a thing that is real: http://www.nanoedmo.net/
It's in March.

Though I think editing might be done well enough in a wiki style, for the most part (with many people changing many small things). Certainly for basic grammar and spelling mistakes, and smoothing things out. (Which shouldn't be underestimated for how much it improves a story, but it's not as difficult as writing the story in the first place.)

Ditto with the needing a good editor. I know a good portion of my story is unnecessarily wordy, because it's the best way to keep myself writing.

Haven't broken 50,000 yet (like 300 words shy) but I'm actually moving the story, which is most important to me.

How did all you US-side peeps enjoy your Thanksgiving? Anyone crazy enough to actually attempt Black Friday shopping (I'm not)?
