I don't believe that logic can prove anything either, but I do believe math can...but I agree with you that evidence-based assertions are better than unsupported ones. Logic is helpful, but not overweening. I take it we'll just agree to disagree on evolution, then? |

I think I should perhaps clarify that I meant formal logic, which like maths consist of things that are true by definition within a system of axioms. The distinction between maths and logic in this sense is small. Logicians claim maths is a branch of logic, and mathematicians claim logic is a branch of mathematics. I agree that what passes for logic in common vernacular doesn't prove anything. Too much of reality is unknown to make (interesting) logical inference about it. If I say it's raining and that I don't have an umbrella, one might think the logical conclusion is that therefore I'll get wet. But I might stay at home, or travel by car. Sounds like a very good idea

A very nice clarification; I commend your use of words. *toasts with sparkling pear cider* And by the way, I agree.

Magician's Quest!! I love Animator Lily!! She is such a nice woman. The dragon eggs is a little website where you get a dragon egg and then you get other people to click on your egg to get the dragon to 'hatch' and then people keep clicking so your dragon will 'grow up'. It's just another little game floating around the net. |

I don't like XP - it was great while it lasted, but I've moved on to bigger and better things. Huh, my Vista SP1 can do more than XP Pro ever could... |
