I still consider Ender's Game one of the best (fiction) books I've ever read. Can't say it really affected my much, though; it's just very good.

Well, the two things I said were different trains of thought. Ender happens to be my favorite book next to A Fly Went By - that one didn't disturb me, but it did shift my mental patterns a lot.

Yeah, I can't effectively explain my experience with a Laurel K. Hamilton novel, so suffice it to say, I am much more careful about the nature/content of what I read beFORE I read it now.

....I probably don't want to ask. Though as for books that have actually, as Me says, shift my mental patterns....I can't think of any.

I'll be honest, I really don't know how to respond to that. Let's just say "yes, you probably don't" and move on, eh?

...sounds like a good idea. If you find it... disturbing...or whatever...yeah. :ermm:

Anyway...has anyone else here read the Amber Chronicles? I've read the first five (about Corwin), but I'm not sure yet if I want to read the other five (about his son Merlin). I mean, it's good, in a way, but it's hard reading, and it's tangled and wierd.

.... are those the ones you kept talking about with older bro? Cause those sounded really confusing.....

And by the way towr WHAT IS WITH EVERYONE'S SUDDEN OBSESSION WITH BLUE FOOTED BOOBIES!?!?!?!?!?!?
(er, sorry. I had to watch a short video of their courting.. whatever for science, and THEN someone on another forum posted a video of them... and all within the past day. And now you have an avatar with one....)

I think it's just coincidence. And of course you're primed to notice it now. I've been planning to use this avatar "one of these days" for months now.

And obviously the obsession is with BOOBIES!!!
It's the only way to have a pair of bare boobies in your avatar and keep it PG. :halo:

Very consciously ignoring the intervening posts... <ah-hem>

Elys, You're reading Roger Zelazny there. HE is tangled and weird. I've actually only looked at one of the (much later) Amber novels, though I read his stand alone novel "Roadmarks" and the feeling is very the same - I'm never entirely sure what just happened.

You're probably right... it doesn't mean I have to like it though >.<

Wha~t? It's entirely innocent. If anyone reads anything else into it, it's entirely in their own mind :halo:
