The job of perpetuating the cycle of violence in society?

Make jokes, not war!

How about both? That way it's compromising, and we KNOW that's a key to peace!

"towr will never get ahead in life after we're done with him." There. Joke + Violence.

Very consciously ignoring the intervening posts... <ah-hem>
I think I'll go with DeepDark on this one...

Elys, You're reading Roger Zelazny there. HE is tangled and weird. I've actually only looked at one of the (much later) Amber novels, though I read his stand alone novel "Roadmarks" and the feeling is very the same - I'm never entirely sure what just happened.
I kind of like them, actually. They're just...I dunno-confusing. Like Star of the Morning by Lynn Kurland. I had to read it two or three times before it made sense- except Zelazny's more confusing.

.....I like that name- Zelazny. For some reason, it's hilarious.

Sounds like something out of one of Dr. Suess' books.

Oh, I didn't say they were Bad at all. Just don't expect to ever completely understand them. I've read Roadmarks a couple/three times - it's still a good story, but there remains a lot I don't get.

"Years ago, Red Dorakeen walked the road as an old man. Now, much younger he drives a beat-up Ford pickup running guns to the Greeks at Thermopylae." - That's the intro, pretty close.

....I see.....that I don't see....

Supports my point of not reading books that deal with time travel. -_-

I reference The Recruit. It contains many plot turns, and just when it all seems to make sense, a twist involving a coffee cup throws the whole thing in a new direction.

And no, coffee may keep me awake, but as to hyper, I firmly believe in most cases that's simply placebo.

Nice new Avatar.

Hey towr, I has a question (well, others feel free to add their two bits as well).

Going purely from the statement "I love Lucky Star" what other shows might you recommend to a person?

Based purely on that sparse information, my top 3 recommendations would be Azumanga Daioh, Pani Poni Dash and Minami-ke.
But it depends on what they liked about Lucky Star, really. These three match on being comedy, slice-of-life, and mostly sketch-based (rather than story-lines).
