*gulp* Reflexes...check...dodge percent...100... *looks around at everyone's faces* Whaaaaaaaat? Just makin' sure she won't pin me to a wall...
Really? I'm kinda hoping she will pin me to the wall. It'd be the closest I've been to a girl in a while.
I thought i made it clear...arrows would be involved. :-/
That means: distance... :ermm:
I can aim from miles away and get the target... B)
(article of clothing-->sleeve-->to wall :D )
Aww :( :broken:

;)

So what would you do with someone after pinning them to the wall? Just leave them there? And if you're shooting from miles away, wouldn't it be a problem if they moved during the half a minute it takes for the arrow to reach them (ignoring wind resistance). Or do your arrows have a target tracking spell woven into the fletching? (I suppose some magic would be necessary just to reach the distance anyway.)

Also, very nice avatar.
The flight time of that arrow would be so long that I could make myself a cup of tea.

You can get up to 300 feet per second, according to some sites. So without wind resistance, one mile would take, at that speed, 17.6 seconds. (Well ok, so I'm also ignoring gravity, which will have long since directed the arrow into the ground by now) Of course one mile isn't "miles", but two miles is; so half a minute of reality defying arrow flight about fits the bill. Not enough for a decent cup of tea, I think.

Well, it's gravity I'm counting on. You'd have to fire the arrow (much) higher; this would result in a less-than-optimum velocity, not to mention a much larger flight distance (both of which combine to form a longer flight time). That gives me enough time for my tea.

Yeah, taking gravity into account, the initial velocity would have to be about 200 meters per second to even be able to reach the (2 mile) target (although it would get there a bit faster). And then there's still air resistance to deal with. On the other hand we haven't accounted for that elven magic.
If the arrow can reach you at all, I wouldn't bet on having time for a cup of tea :P

Well, if we're going to use non-human powers, then I'll just borrow the powers of one of my daelva...who slow down and stop time.

I WILL GET MY CUP OF TEA...LOL.

Ah, but see, you never presented yourself as someone who could borrow your Daelva's powers, whereas Kari on various occasions presented herself as an Elf. So slowing/stopping time would be out of character for you. It's too much of a deus ex machina

(Actually, stopping time is in itself not a very good power from a narrative p.o.v., unless there are some very serious drawbacks to stem its use. In my opinion, anyway.

I suppose that perhaps that's why in "Heroes", (volume 4 spoiler-warning, just in case)
Spoiler: click to toggle
Unfortunately they made a big mess of the entire show now.)

I'm the author. I can take other abilities upon myself as necessary. And stopping time has some incredible benefits...like getting me my tea.

Oh, phooey, like you couldn't get a cup of tea otherwise. It would be much more impressive -- and interesting for that matter -- to just make the tea while skillfully and effortlessly dodging the arrows. Stopping time is so overrated; and shows no class at all.

 Well...none of you could even begin to imagine the powers granted to my companions and me! :ninja: B)

:D That's right...aside from being an elf I have powers added to my natural abilities. ;)

:) Thanks to my cousin...so does she and a couple of my friends!

Although I must congradulate one for her psychic ability (headaches aside).

Well, seeing as I'm insanity personified, it really doesn't matter what your definition of 'classy' is vs. mine.

Hmm, the power to materialize cookies from thin air? The power to speak to penguins? The power to make someone involuntarily sneeze? The power to make puppies appear anywhere you want? The power to turn someone's bloody into hydrochloric acid?

Anything noteworthy? And any handicaps to go along with that?

Does stopping time strike you as a particularly insane solution to the problem of being fired upon? Now, accelerating time, that might qualify as insane.
I'd just expect something more interesting from someone claiming insanity. But of course my definition of insanity doesn't matter, either, does it. Oh well, whatever. It matters not to me whether it matters to you.

Have a ginger snap :cookie2:
