(Did you actually listen to it?) You do a whole lot of accidental near death stuff, Dark. It can't be good for you; you should knock it off or else I'm going to have to die VERY young to beat you to the grave. ;)

Backing away quietly is the best course of action in almost any circumstance that doesn't include Italian ice.

The coma was actually the biggie I've mentioned before. There was no medically definable cause it happened in the first place, and the doctors had run out of options other than to pray (it's quite the story, but I wasn't sure anybody wanted to hear it).

But yeah, you're probably right. I really don't do it on purpose. I think that after getting to know Death so closely once it's that much easier to venture close to his territory...

Sure, I'll hear it - don't have anything else pressing me.

Give him my regards next time, I hope to see him very soon.

o.0 ....

ANYway. Yeah... Well, whole thing actually "started" with me getting really sick. I went a few days before being taken to a doctor - thought I might have strep, prescribed some anti-biotic. Last I remember was being in the car on the way back, but apparently we got home and (not yet having taken any) I was sitting on the couch reading the label on the pills when my brother turns from the computer to say something...
And I'm sagged against the couch drooling out the side of my mouth (no one in my family drools in their sleep). From here, I only have others reports, but apparently I put up quite a fight with the EMTs and got a bloody nose while they were cutting me out of my clothes and getting me in the ambulance. I got to the local hospital and they had me intubated and were running tests. Also my dad bumped into another 'Elder' (from our church) and they were able to give me a blessing right there.
My condition was deteriorating, and they life-flighted me over the mountains to a bigger hospital where I went into Shock Trauma ICU ("better" than ICU. Apparently, there's usually only one way out of Shock Trauma) and had a team of five specialists who were given no other patients while they tried to figure out the problem.
They could find absolutely nothing wrong with me, except being stuck in a coma. They finally just stopped the sedatives and hoped.
I woke up at 2:35am on... a Friday? Three days after going under wondering where I was... But knowing the only reason I was awake was because God said so (but hey, I didn't feel sick! Just really really hungry). I think a nurse finally came in because I started playing games with this cool image of my lungs displayed on one of the computers.
There was some fallout (like they forgot to stitch down the line into my artery at my wrist and when the nurse pulled the tape off, the whole thing came out - arteries bleed FAST. And I had to get blood taken from my arm and put in my spine a few days later to plug a whole left from the two spinal taps they did while trying to find the problem).

Since then, I haven't done anything half so near-deathy (well, maybe when I was folded in half...).

Why does all the cool stuff happen to other people? ^o)

Why do they cut you out of your clothes?

Why did they stop the sedatives?

Why did they fly you instead of keeping you there?

Did you see a bright light?

Did ICU very much feel like the "I see you"?

This is why you just chug regular medicine instead of heading to the doctor's - Doc was probably the one to jinx you so you'd have to pay hospital bills..

I played with all the equipment when I was waiting to go under, too. And at least you're nice when you wake up - I kept trying to walk out the door and they kept having to catch me right before I hit the floor, listening to me insist that I was fine and to leave me alone. (So I hear..)

Hard to just walk out when you haven't had any actual food for three days and have four different tubes sticking out of you (from various places).

They cut me out of the sweater and two shirts (mom got all the pieces, and actually sewed one back together! I don't wear it now, but I still have it) so they could get the probes on bare skin and such.
The sedatives were because I'd been pretty violent since the EMTs first showed, and they needed me calm to keep all the tubes in place. They stopped because they had no options for treatment. So I'd either wake up or I wouldn't.
I was flown out because our local hospital wasn't as well equipped and with my vital signs dropping it was that or say good-bye.
No bright lights. I don't remember anything at all between driving away from the hospital three days before and waking up in ICU.
Heart monitor and other stuff is over-rated, but the lungs thing was COOL

Well, why didn't they just pull the shirts over your head? That's stupid. Cutting them up seems like-- GASP!

THEY WORK WITH THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY!!! 0_0

Trying pulling shirts off of someone unconscious in the middle of violent seizures - like I said, my dad tells me I was REALLY not happy when they picked me up. I got a bloody nose because one of 'em smacked me by accident as they were trying to keep me manageable.

Edit: But   :D B) all the same

Scissors actually, as I understand it. And apparently cutting (not pulling) the shirt off is something of standard procedure for many such situations for them. Or something like that.

And hey, it makes for a cool shirt!

=_= Uh huh. I think that rule was probably just made by someone like Me - breaking something to make yourself feel better about losing your time on annoying people.

Well, if it had been any of my brothers, scissors would not have gone near em - I would have pulled their shirts myself before potential stabbings.

But it's... A... Cool... Shirt! (and the only proof, aside from the little dot the IV left of the event). <grumbles about not being able to post a pic of it>

...Okay...

Well, at least you can say you've been in the "I see you", and have the T shirt to prove it!

"Been there. Done that - got the T shirt!" (You..do know that saying, yes? I'll feel so old if you don't.)
