I figure it's getting a bit quiet on the forum, again, and we can probably do with a new topic.

So.. Read anything good lately?

I just finished reading "The Twelve Kingdoms" by Fuyumi Ono. I just ordered it on a whim; but it ranks as one of the best fantasy story I've read.
I've also started watching the anime based on it (which I'd been putting off till I read the book), but it changes quite a few elements that are essential to the story. For example the book is really about the lone journey and trials of one girl in a foreign world, but in the anime she gets stuck there with two friends; you can't really get the same sense of loss and abandonment if you're not alone. But perhaps they'll make something different, yet still good, of the story (too early to say).

Oooh, lots.
I've read, "Knight or Knave", by Andre Norton, "The Snow Queen", "The Eagle and the Nightingale", and I'm in the middle of "Reserved for the Cat" all by Mercedes Lackey

Meh, most all the books I read are good! Although Father of Dragons by L. B. Graham was real good. Most of the other books I've read recently are Star Wars (which are good, but not as good as some others). Except for One Good Knight, by Mercedes Lackey. That was good, too.

I'm really enjoying "His Majesty's Dragon" by Naomi Novik. There's a ton of them in the series, tho'. My sister has them, and she keeps telling me to read faster. XD
AAAAAAND, since you mentioned Mercedes Lackey, I really liked her Last Herald Mage series (though I tend to ignore the second book 8D).

Brisingr by Christopher Paolini, not a bad fantasy series if you don't mind that there's a whole bunch of rip-offs, for say the Pern books. :P

Heh, yeah, the second book wasn't as good as the other two, I agree. Although my favorite of her Valdemar books would have to be the Mage Storms trilogy and Exile's Honor.

Eh, Darian's tale, mage storms, and arrows are my favorites, and I totaly agree, the second book is definately not as good as the other two.

Say, has anyone here read these The Ranger's Apprentice? I'm kinda curious about it and wanted to know if it's worth the reading.

My family and I have really enjoyed that series. I've read the first four books of the series and will keep reading them as they come out. Very nicely done series so far and quite worth the read.

I'm waiting for my library to get All My Holy Mountain (last book in the binding of the blade series). The one before it stopped on a bad cliffhanger... I hate it when that happens. <_<
