I LOVED HOW HE WAS LIKE "There's no ROOM left in my kingdom! Why would I want a war? I'm overshifting my workers already! There's not even room in the fields of torment - though I'm SURE I could make room for you."

I want to find The Lightening Thief to read it soon. My nephew and I have been exchanging book recommendations and that was one of his to me.

Just recently finished Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones.

Has anyone read The Ranger's Apprentice series? That's on my get-around-to-trying-it-out-eventually reading list, but I'd like to know whether or not it's worth it.

Sorry I can't help there Ely. As to 'get-aroud-to-trying-it-out-eventually' reading list; I try to ignore mine anymore. It's so flipping long I'd be at it the rest of my life. :P

Mine's not quite so long. The books on it tend to change as I remember and forget them. :P

Piercing The Darkness, anyone? Or any Frank Perreti for that matter?

Blecch. Frank Peretti. I only like one of his books - The Oath - and the rest are junk (IMHO). Probably my favorite author is David Eddings.

No, that doesn't mean he's better than Tolkien - he's not - I just like his style of writing better.

Frank Perreti is a genius. Have you ever heard him narrate his books? He does an amazing demon voice. You won't find a much better book on the supernatural warfare.

I dunno, I don't like books on supernatural warfare.

It's a Christian book - on the power of prayer. I think it's a real eye opener, most Christians don't even think about the war out there.

Me! Me! (not you Me but me as myself ;) ) And yes, it's worth it the reading, even my Mom's a fan.

I want to reread The Unicorn Chronicles series one of Bruce Coville's best I think.

David Eddings rocks. I think Sparhawk has to be one of my top favorite characters in all literature.

Bruce Coville... Seems I've read some of his stuff before, but I don't recall what. <shrug>

I'm really tempted to start mentioning authors names and see how many people actually recognize the ones I know.
David Farland, anyone (may not count if you don't know his actual name)? Good YA fantasy.

I know Farland. Heard of Orson Scott Card?

Card is cool. Though I definitely prefer many of his other works to the Ender series (ex: Enchantment).

What by Farland have you read? And I bet you already know his actual name.

I consider Ender's Game one of the best books I've read to date. I haven't gotten around to read anything else by him, though.
