ouch *starts to dread college even more*

I hate shoes, and desist from wearing them whenever possible
I bet it depends a lot on what college you go to.

I don't think anyone here would stop you from going barefoot (and/or pregnant). Whether it'd be a good idea is another thing. I can't say I've noticed shards of glass or thumbtacks lying around, but what people drag in on the bottom of their shoes isn't always kosher.
Flipflops would be ok though.

Yeah, the rules at Wake Tech are 'any sort of footwear', not 'church shoes' - . Flip-flops are all over the place.

Eh, I need new flip-flops then, my old ones broke. The only flip flops that are comfortable are the ones with cloth toe-thingies though, not the plastic ones.
Though what I'd have to fear from dirty floors though, I duno.

Yah, I suppose it would depend on what the *dirt* was. Plain dirt I can handle, as well as gravel and little pieces of things. Don't know about glass, never walked on it before....
Yah know, I've always wondered just what cooties were....

Well, the school ground variety are fictional entities that make you icky.

And the real variety are lice.

Lolz. Record of what?

(another reason I wear socks- I impale my heels with my toenails...)

Why'd anyone make them up then?

Record of never going to the doctor or the hospital for an injury. I've only once had an injury that might've merited going for stitches, but I heal fast, so...

Cooties?

Well, you see when a boy is around 8 years old, girls are considered icky. Ergo, if a girl touches a boy, he becomes icky in association. Now, children, being the smart creatures that they are, will readily extrapolate that there needs to be some sort of transfer mechanism to make this work. Ergo cooties: if you touch a girl you get cooties.
And to prevent them taking hold, you need to get a cootie shot. Because the invention of vaccination hasn't gone unnoticed with all the jabs they've been getting over the years.

I just about choked on my egg-salad-sandwich there. That's the funniest explanation I've ever heard for 'cooties'.

Eh, Shadow, have you ever tried walking on gravel?
I like going barefoot, but not when I'm taking a hike...gravel and sticks and rocks and thorns hurt... :'(
