I hated the stupid laughing gas thing. Nothing against the gas, but I couldn't tell it was doing anything and it was Extremely annoying. First time dentist stepped out it was about 15 seconds before I took it off my face.

First time I went to donate blood was one of those stories that most people would never go try again after. THe nurse was all "Oh, this'll be easy." And missed. Then she hit it, and it went about a third of the way and... pretty sure the vein collapsed. So then instead of pulling it out and resticking me they take the needle in my arm and Fish for the vein. :hurl:

Still better than anesthesia though. Me and my mom do not react well to the stuff at ALL

:hurl: that makes me a bit dizzy just reading about it! I plan on never donating blood unless it's seriously needed. ...... they'd probably have to figure out what blood type I was before I donated anyway (I almost fainted when they poked my finger for the blood test, so I still don't know what blood type I am :-/

Do those anesthesia and laughing-gas things make you woozyish? Cause that feeling's kinda fun, except when you start getting grey dots in your vision so you can't see. But being disoriented is fun.

But, you know, Dark, if the doctor says to do something and you disobey it's on your head if something goes wrong. If you follow his orders and something goes wrong you can blame him.

I'd guess it depends on the person, in answer to your question, Shadow. For Me, all it was like was breathing cold air, and it seemed to clear my head and regulate me. (Quite soothing. Sort of like an oxygen intoxication; I rather liked it.) But my brother, however, become incoherent and actually started laughing at the slightest things.

I donate blood simply for the mandatory cookies and juice at the end! =D Me: "I want a coookieee...and juiceee... where is the blood place?"

I never took a blood test, but I've always assumed to be O+ because both of parents are O+ - can you have a different blood type than your parents if they're the same?

I suppose "Needles aren't that scary and they don't really hurt" coming from the girl who has has stuck needles under the first layer of her skin for fun since she was two, and has veins that are pretty hard to miss.. doesn't mean too much, does it?

Except that you can't turn it off. Bumping into everything is only amusing for SO long...

And Me - I think you could actually come out O- and I'm too lazy to do the review research to make sure. But since that's SUPER uncommon I'm pretty sure your (+). Yay for being a universal donor!

As Dark said, there's a small chance you could be O-. You're definitely O, though. Blood type is determined by whether certain molecules are present on the outside of your red blood cells. O means that you have no genes for either A or B, and if your parents have neither, then neither can you. + however means your parents have the rhesus factor, but it doesn't say whether they have it on both pairs of the relevant chromosomes or just one. They could be O++ or O+-, as it were. In the latter case you could have gotten the - from both of them.

no i didn't actually donate the blood...they took samples :/
and it wasn't that i couldn't handle the sight or feel of it (which i found mighty uncomfortable) i was more about to pass out from the fact that i had less blood in me and i get weak enough when i have all my blood :/ (this is why they tell donators to have huge breakfasts)

yeah i'm more likey to resist due to the fact it hurts dispite what they say "oh you'll just feel slight pressure! this won't hurt a bit..." yeah...it won't hurt you at all, lady or sir...but it's going into MY arm :stare:

hmm... I wana react like your brother Me! Twould be so fun!

And... I don't really know what makes me feel faint, it's not like it hurts that much, just a little prick. It can't be blood loss, cause it happens with shots. I'm guessing it's the kind of pain, cause those really sharp needles they use feel different than anything else I've experienced.

I've never had problems with getting poked with needles. I think it feels interesting. Though I guess I'm wierd that way. I've tried poking myself with pushpins- never quite hard enough to bleed yet. I'm still trying, though. I cut myself enough accidentally as it is, I guess I've become pretty accustomed to blood.

You want a trippy sensation? A pair of surgical tweazers inside your hand going down the little tube for your tendon. I'd severed the tendon in my finger when I cut it with a knife (about six years old) and he had to reach back into my hand to pull it up where he could re-attach it. Trick was while my finger was numb, my hand wasn't (though you don't actually have pain receptors in the slot where your tendon goes, apparently. Looks weird as anything though.

Stick a hot needle into a freshly self-surgery-ed ed cyst on your forehead deep enough to touch the bone and you feel this weird buzz through your body and ears. Something about touching the bone makes it all go wack, apparently. Needles are so much fun.

I passed out for like three seconds when some nurses were drawing blood. I was staring at the tube and it was...a lot of blood. 8D

First time I ever passes out and presumably my last. :/
