Whaat???? I missed Towr's hug? :'(

I haven't hugged anyone outside my family other that my two friends. I get scared if someone unexpectedly touches me, so the point of grabbing the person behind me roughly by accident.

Ah well. /HUGS EVERYONE!!!

There is absolutely a method to high-fiving; in my family it hurts if you miss.

Never miss a good opportunity to shut up, is what my brother taught me. ;)
You're brother's a smart person..."it is far more important, in life, to know when to SHUT UP, rather than speak".

*grins sweetly* It's pretty hard to strangle someone from the front seat, now isn't it?
Not that I've ever thought of any such thing...*coughcoughhackwheeze*

I am known simply by reputation of the "Huge Christian homeschooling family." (Where we live people do not like homeschoolers, or Christians, or large families. This one lady believes we are selfishly overpopulating the world.) So blending is not really an option, since I have to stand up for my beliefs and for the outcast kids. I blend in well, but I can't stick up for people AND keep a low profile. But no one knows my name. The(y) know me as the person 'who's got issues you shouldn't mess with her', and other than my family's rep I am unknown.
When we'd go to the store (as a family), we'd get asked if we were Mormon, or Catholic. Dad's response was funny: "I'm not Catholic, but I'm more Catholic than most Catholics!"

Rofl! Now, THAT'S original. You guys, too? We get asked that ALL THE TIME, right after "You have HOW many siblings?" What is so hard about a large family? Why do we have to be catholic or Mormon? I wish I could come up with an answer like your dad's..mine is usually just "...No."

"Knowledge speaks, wisdom listens.", and I find you just can't learn as much creepy observational knowledge if you don't listen.

It's just a matter of statistics; of the various denominations of Christianity, Catholics and Mormons tend to have the largest families.

Which of course doesn't change one bit that it can be furiously annoying when people make the wrong assumption however much they might be supported by statistics.
When I was young people that didn't know me well enough assumed I liked reading books because I was smart. So one day, on our Christmas-equivalent at school, I got a book for a present. I was so pissed, I had half a mind to burn it in the fireplace when I got home.

So the lesson to be learned here is, if it annoys you when people go "Gosh, what a large family, are you Catholics?", drag them home and burn them in the fireplace.

...*snerk* ....*chuckle* ...*laugh* ROLFMAO!   Seriously, Towr, that made my day! Can I quote you on that?

Yes, smart does not always equal book reading any more than book reading equals smart. Damn statistics...>_> Was it made horribly worse by other kids getting cool things? Because it's always worse when you're alone, like when I got sweaters from my grandparents and my sister got dolls. (It was their way of trying to get me to wear something other than short sleeves, and get my sister to try something other than jigsaw puzzles)

No thanks. I've already got one. The horns are just there to hold it up.

With all that nice fertilizer, my mum's rose bushes and our fig trees would grow beautifully!

Also, if I saved some for my cat, Jack, he would love me forever even more than he does now.

Sure :)

Well, it was just a gift-exchange of the kids in my class, with a spending limit of like $5. So the limit of "cool" was pretty much a big bag of candy :P I honestly don't remember what anyone else got, or even what I got for the person whose name I pulled. I basically remember just two things of that day, 1) that loathsome book, and 2) the person responsible.
It's odd how the mind works, but I still take an instant (initial) dislike of anyone with the same name. Poor girl, I'm sure she meant well. But it was just exactly the wrong kind of gift, almost anything would have been better.
(I did do my best to hide my disappointment at the time though, because I wasn't raised without manners.)
