True.

The next person HATES it when someone pulls a "Well, if that's what you want to think, then okay." type stalemate when they think they might lose the point they're debating. /boiling rage. Freaking cowards.

I hate it when they pull it on me, but if I pull it on someone else they deserve it because they're clearly not susceptible to reason.

The next person agrees it's no use arguing with idiots, because they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

False. I'm idiot enough that they can't beat me with experience, so I do my damnedest.

The next person hates it when they start seeing little brown furballs move in their peripheral vision from not having slept enough. (you look and they disappear! It's amazing!)

False, I've never had the experience.

The next person has (in the past) cut down a tree.

False. I was too little when we had them. And there are no trees in the city.

The next person wishes people would start spelling it "doughnut" instead of "donut" and stop leaving a third of the letters. :stare:

(Good grief, you don't have trees in your city? We're a pretty densely populated country, but we make the effort to cram in a few trees wherever we can.)

True, and also colour, neighbour, behaviour etc. And people that spell light "lite" should be shot.

The next person doesn't really care one way or the other.

(Well, that is an exaggeration on my part - there are trees, I'll grant you, and the suburbs aren't bad so long as you're in a shallowly populated area, but in the city, the few trees that are there are for display.)

False. I actually do not like adding "u"'s into those - I like short words.

The next person likes Sansa vs Apple.

(*lol* So you like short words, except when it's donut?)

False, I have no idea what you mean by "Sansa vs Apple".

The next person revels in being inconsistent.

True. Consistent is boring.

The next person gets confused by grey and gray (especially as a last name :stare: ).

(No, no, donut is misspelled - wrong, even. I mean, color and such are correct either way, so I like it short, but donut is just WRONG. You can't just cut words up to shorten them! (I just don't want them lengthened, either.))

Sansa vs anything Apple puts out.Sansa being the awesome MP3's from SanDisk.

False. Grey is a color, gray is a colour.

The next person thinks it's WAY too early for Christmas. (I'm seeing Christmas displays in the stores.)

(According to several dictionaries donut is also simply a variant spelling, one especially predominant in the US. It is no more wrong than colour is wrong to writers of US English, and color to writers of British English.
And frankly, it's silly to call a majority spelling wrong in the first place. There isn't an objective standard for what is right and wrong in language, it depends on how language is used by "the people"; language is very democratic that way. Which isn't to say you have to like it, but until you become the ruler of the world you don't have the authority to bend the will of the people to spell things the way you like. )

True. If things keep going like this, stores will put up their Christmas displays the day after they've taken them down. It's getting ridiculous.

The next person is going to boycott stores that already have Christmas displays up.

False. I go to few enough stores in the first place.

The next person thinks Halloween and Christmas decorations look silly together. (not that this stops some people  )

It is NOW - however, much like "ain't" I regurgitate those "acceptable" wrongs being forced down my throat. =P

=O I beg to differ, sir! Thinking like that is what's bringing internet lingo to the streets! That's why people are spelling chatspeak in papers! THAT'S WHY WE HAVE DONUTS! The devolving of grammar and spelling goes fast enough without letting it go!

True. I think they look silly period, but yes, moreso when jammed together.

The next person is better at facts than feelings.

(Yeah, that's what Chaucer said. Time to go back to middle-English spelling and grammar!)

True.

The next person is uncomfortable with people that are unable to accept the facts for what they are (and not infrequently take it as some sort of insult).

I'd rather just halt progress, but if that is necessary to prevent Gatorade-plant-watering, fine, I will do it.

True. I'd probably get along with the general populace better if that were so.

The next person has resigned themselves to being a minority in the majority of situations.
