@DD: Yes! They were so amazing! This is what I wanted to do more than anything else in the world when I was a little girl. Still do, but it'd never happen as I don't have dancing backgrounds.. False. I can explain. Because most of them are annoying inconsiderate jerks who couldn't care less about certain people's older brothers being beaten up behind the buses every day and letting certain people's friends get in big trouble to the point of suspension for letting their cross necklaces show in public. I don't care about their paygrade. The next person has held a snake before. |

That's a rather unfair assessment of teachers. With rather gigantic sample bias. I'll have you know most teachers I've met were rather nice people; and so is my father, thank you very much. True, I think. I think I held one in a zoo once. The next person doesn't like generalizing over hundreds of thousands of people based on a second hand bad experience with at best a handful of them. |

Yes, I know. But I'm speaking of the really bad ones in the local public schools that really don't teach you anything and turn a blind eye to everything - which has been the only experience I've seen my siblings and friends endure in four states across the country. I like most teachers - I just despise most public school ones. I know there are nice teachers, and I don't say I dislike them in real life - I just have yet to find an average public school teacher that actually cares. I wasn't speaking of professors, either. I love all of the professors whom I've befriended. You'll note that the bad experiences I've had with dogs have made my wary of them, even though I know there are nice ones. Also, there is no disrespect to your father unless he is teaching in America - Dark said American, - I have no idea how good Dutch schools are so I have no reason to think your father isn't nice. More or less false. Entire schools in four different states (not counting extended family, that's just personally seen) isn't what I'd call generalization when we're only speaking in American public school terms. The next person thinks I'm still generalizing. |

Provided enough qualifiers, True. (and Me, I think it's interesting you have a high opinion of professors in general, and piss-poor of public school teachers. The majority of my experience (and of many of my friends/associates out this way) is the exact opposite. Professors are paid really well to not effectively teach and public school teachers get peanuts trying to do the job these kids parents aren't) Next person has also never, ever even slightly exaggerated the smallest iota. |

Eh? Since when do I have a high opinion of professors in general? I don't. I said the the professors I've befriended. The professors I've love have taken great care in making sure their kids pass their course. ...... *facepalm* ..... *sigh*... */explains to yet another person.* See, I may 'generalize' by other people's standards - but the said generalizations are easily alterable in the party's favor. One nice public school teacher will cancel out a SCHOOL of bad ones. I'd only have to meet a few before it'd be even ground, and only one more after that before I'd stop detesting them. Very much in the way that I since I met Dark, I don't automatically associate Mac users with rich kid brats now. It only takes disproving of an up-to-that-point proven fact for me not to let an opinion go. I have yet to meet a decent public school teacher. But the moment I do I'll stop not caring about their paycheck more than I care about my dad's because his boss hates him. I cannot help it if most people view that as warped. (No, my parents are not of the same school of thought - I come up with these screwed up mentalities all on my own.) True. I call them "Humans". (Do you ever actually meet any public school teachers, decent or not? And since your opinion seems to be based mostly on the experiences of friends and family, how much do Dark's good experiences count against that?) False, I like my two front teeth where they are. The next person tries to avoid hotlinking so people have less trouble seeing the image. |
