You must not like music in languages you don't understand then..
Quite correct. Therefore, I'm fine with anything in English or Spanish. Everything else - nope.

You could make the tax code sound exciting if you put it to the right music. It has little bearing on how exciting or boring it is.
I learned the entirety of 2nd grade through Schoolhouse Rock!, actually. There IS merit to that. I learned bout the electoral college, how bills become laws, how checks work, all my multiplication tables, the American revolution, how electricity actually works, prepositions, predicates, economics, where that taxes go, the national debt, planets, gravity, laws of physics, and COUNTLESS other things that saved me all the time and I had FUN doing it. Pretty darn awesome.

Lyrics are usually according to their genre, or they're sometimes nonsensical, so I usually don't put a ton of merit to them. I love the ones that have very deep lyrics, and I refuse to listen to things that have a message I'm not okay with in there, but you have to account in genre. Metal lyrics are usually 'kill' lyrics, pop lyrics are usually 'life is built on love and the back of unicorns and rainbows', hard rock generally has 'screw it' lyrics, country is usually about hardship or living the wild side, and so on. Generally if I like a song (foreign stuff, too) I go look up the lyrics, and if they have something bad in them, I won't listen, but if they're just nonsensical (within reason), I don't have a problem.

(Which really sucks if you find a great sounding song about "his majesty", get really happy that you might have found an awesome sounding Christian band, and then go look them up to be devastated and go. "Ah. His infernal majesty. Got it. Well, there goes that band.")

EDIT: And of course, there are some songs that I'll listen to JUST FOR the lyrics even if the tune sucks - but those are rare.

On that note, I once heard Japanese rap and it was The Funniest Thing I've ever heard.

Oh, I KNOW! Becuase of all those freaky-long words all trying to be crammed into a completely unmelodious string to words, put the the sound of a boom box put through a meat grinder that even the shorter English words have a hard time trying to outdo in burning your ears?

...

K, maybe that was a little harsh.

...

K, fine, I'm not the least bit apologetic, either. :P

No, it was the high-pitched girl J-pop voices trying to fit with the pumping edgy rap music - TOTAL DISCONNECT.

/feels around inside her chest... finds the heart after a while...stares at heart trying to look for the goodness in it..for a long while...(darn, where is it).....finally finds the "goodness" section... pulls some bloody goodness out...looks at it sadly before throwing it away..

Out of the goodness of my heart, just this once, I'm not saying anything that would be less than nice. :P

Putting the total amount of sense at 2 cents - since if I had them I'd horde them and Jason would do the same with his!

(On a totally unrelated note:)
Hey, look! My elder 25-year-old sister (riot of a girl that she is) showed this to me and said it could be made for use! I-- I think she may have even been HINTING that I take it!
