I like that idea  *Glomps Jason as well*

I'm afraid I'm not gonna be much of any help in this discussion (for best man). Oh well.

Me, we are Not having a death (even his) associated with my wedding, thank you.
And you said it wasn't going to be boring...

With this crowd, how could it be? I think we're perfectly capable of 'not boring' without 'gruesome death,' really. I do.

Surely that's the one he's marrying. (Which begs the question why the bride never marries the best man; why settle for second-best?)

i heard from people in real weddings, that's just a movie thing

in other words, no speech required unless you feel so heartfully obligated

of course, i've never been to a wedding so i dunno if Dark would have a different settup

was your avatar's expression sorta matching the tone of your post intentional, towr?

I don't think Dark would make you do a speech, towr. Speeches are usually boring, anyway... :P

Nah, then I'd have picked an expression of nervous panic rather than a glare of death.

Traditionally, the best man gives a toast - it used to be that he made a toast to the just the bride but now it's usually made to the couple - to which the groom responds: he thanks his best man and then makes a toast to his bride. Then the bride makes a toast to her husband, then both sets of parents go. After that, the floor is either open for toasts or the festivities continue on.

Not-so-traditionally, the best man makes a toast, the maid/matron of honor makes a toast, followed by at least the father of the bride (but not surprising if the other parents do, too), the floor is then open for vengeful siblings with embarrassing stories, and the bride and groom are too busy thinking about later to make a toast themselves. :P
