[ Docks - Dock Area ]
-- Somewhere on the docks of the Port. You can be on a ship or simply walking the docks. --
says to ALL: I could see the Port coming into view and a wide smile began to tug gently at the corner of my lips. There was an overwhelming sense of - calm - that whirled within me that went as far as my bones I thought. It had been far too long since I had purposely made my way somewhere - anywhere - for any length of time. Traveling had been a part of me and it was beginning to feel like a third arm that was constantly weighing me down. Yet now I found myself approaching somewhere that felt already like home, which was exactly the feeling I got when I had applied for the position of Innkeeper. This place...that job...somehow called to me. It was something I knew I could be good at, and I knew that I couldn't keep traveling forever - my change purse was only so deep and traveling and hiring men to escort and protect me on my journey's and was more expensive than I realized - both in coinage and my sanity.

The ship had now docked and the ugliest man I had ever laid eyes on was yelling at me to get off. He had wanted me on his ship as much as I had wanted to be here, though I appreciated the fact he and his crew left me alone for the most part. Ships weren't necessarily my - thing - though I had grown accustom to them over time. They were too confining for me for long periods of time. As I approached the plank that would carry me from the ship to land, I gave a polite and courteous nod to the Captain. I had, of course, paid him a hefty sum of coin in full before we departed. Our bill was settled in my eyes though strangers were as trusthworthy as my closest enemy. I walked with purpose down the plank...not quite a run for that would have been rude...but with grace and dignity that befitted my high caste, though I admit, as the blue pools of my robes swirled at my feet the dignity and grace was quicker than usual. "Take care and thank you again" I yelled back to the Captain who was still standing aboard the ship. I muttered under my breath and tried not to roll my eyes at the scowl that was forever etched on his face and turned to make my way.

says to ALL: "Now what", I muttered softly to nobody in particular. My feet had never been happier to land on solid ground, yet I simply could not will them to move. Where did I go? Where was the Inn? Was there someone waiting there for me? These were all questions that I should have asked, but my decision to apply for the Innkeeper position was far to spontaneous for such questions. "Might I ask...where is the Inn?" I asked a Free Man that was slowly passing me as I stood there looking as though I was a lost jit looking for a good meal. "That way" he said, pointing to both his left and then to his right. As soon as he spoke his pace quickened, as though my query had started him and he wanted to depart the dock in which a crazy and lost woman was standing. "Thank you"...I said, though I wasn't entirely certain for what, for his directions where less than vague. "Move along, Khaleesa", my inner thoughts told myself, "You can do this..." I shook my head, not particularly needing a pep talk right now and began to make my way from the docks to try and find the Inn.

[ Streets - Around the Port ]
-- On one of the streets that weave around the Port --

says to ALL: I had been walking for what seemed like an ahn yet was likely more than 20 or 30 ehn. However long my feet had been strolling through the streets of Port Phenix, I was no closer to finding the Inn than when my feet were planted firmly on the docks. The long stroll had granted me the opportunity to find my surroundings in other ways. I passed, what I assumed, were residence dwellings as well as some sort of Slaver House. What intrigued me the most was a quaint little cafe and the name seemed to call to me for I too, was as hungry as a verr. I had no time however for the sharp stabs of hunger pains that filled my core...I was determined to find the Inn.

[ Streets - Around the Port ]
-- On one of the streets that weave around the Port --

says to ALL: I continued to pass several little shops, all of which made me smile at how utterly quaint and practical they were. There was even a shop that sold inks and parchment, something that I knew I'd need plenty of in the coming months. I peeked through the window shop and smiled, willing myself not to go in. My conscience, which apparently resided on my right shoulder kept chanting "Find the Inn first". There were time that I wanted to ping the nagging and pesky conscience from the smug perch in which he resided. It was then, as I turned from the shop window and turned that I saw it. "The Red Door Inn", and a smile beamed across ruby lips. Knots began to fester within me as I took small steps towards it. It was much more grand than I had invisioned within my thoughts. I had etched within my mind something more shabby...run down...needing work...something that a lady would run with ano experience of running an Inn such as myself, but this was far from any of those things. "Well then," I said, mostly to myself but apparently loud enough for anyone walking along the streets would hear, "you best not screw this up Scribe."

says to ALL: Gloved hands reached for the door as I pushed the heavy weight forward, causing the door to swing open a loud and obnoxious complaint of iron hinges, the sound was hollow like old bones. It was an ominus warning that went unheeded as I made my way inside. "Well well..." I said, my eyes drinking in the entirety of it all. The large door swung shut and caused me to jump. It was much larger than I had invisioned, though I had been proven that the images that I had etched in my mind were false. Not many people had gathered about I was uncertain whether they were locals or guests. I stepped further in, noting the high ceilings and second floor of rooms that surrounded the outside of the chamber. The fire was blazing within the stone hearth that brought about more than just the warmth of the fire, but the welcoming of the room as a whole. I realized that the smile that tugged on ruby lips upon seeing the inn from the outside remained.
