This thread is for Out Of Character [OOC] discussion about the game and for posting character and world-building information. I will probably eventually put an organized glossary of Characters and other things in this post. |

well, I'm fine with things like making other societies that don't give a shit about this stuff and have similar levels of power it does not have to be anything like that idea with the neutral faction, either the privileges that come with recognition, if any, are probably not actually enforced anyway, though it would probably be up to each place to decide how they treat them like, if a country wants to enforce privileges within it's borders that would be up to them I'm not sure I like the idea of making the test a competition, especially since in that case you're not tested for anything more than being able to win against others in practice, and probably in a setting with artificial rules Edited by yeti, Dec 19 2016, 01:58 AM.

I am fine with some sort of authority that judges people's magical powers and assigns them a rank. In fact i expect there to be multiple such authorities. |

sounds cool like I can imagine a magician being able to say that they got this rank from one authority and this other rank from another and yet another rank from yet another and blah blah this almost feels like collecting badges in Pokemon collecting things is cool |

It's not a definition most people use for archmages, but I like the interpretation that archmages are just skilled mages with the ability to cast magic from any field of magic. I'm fine if we don't use that definition, I am just fond of it conceptually because it makes archmages a sort of magical jack of all trades. I imagine there are multiple certification bodies of varying reputation. |

it might be a good idea to determine whether our town that we are RPing in currently is part of a country or listens to any particular kind of other authority or what I am fine with it if you want to use that as the definition for archmage Rubik, in that case the master level that I thought of can be called something else, I mean, it could even just be called something like "star rank" or whatever and that level is just according to one authority, anyway, I'm sure there are others wonder what magic authorities our town here might listen to |

Gorika's speed being matched only by a handful on Rea is probably only when you're looking at those who move by using the velocity of their body as it remains just as solid as it originally was like there are probably at least several, maybe even more than 20 users of light magic out there who progressed to the point where they can temporarily or semi-permanently become light or similar to light, and move at or near the speed of light those that use teleportation, and also Location magic, are also notable cases where people get places faster than her, since they may take no time at all Time magic can probably do crazy things too all in all Gorika's speed doesn't mean as much as it seemed like it would but it still means a lot I think |

at the core of it, Gorika's greatest magic deals with managing and increasing kinetic energy, and with a bit of creativity, that can be used for all sorts of cool things |

here is a story i like about someone who runs fast http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/nickelodeon_ch23#1 there is a magic school in the town and i imagine it is the biggest magical authority in the town and it might answer to some university in a bigger nearby city |

The new character I was going to make is actually supposed to be the 50-year old headmaster of the magic school in the town, and also a master level magician (according to some authority) who specializes in earth/ground magic They would be able to do a very wide variety of things that relate to the ground and the element of earth They are also very eccentric and ordinarily would not be allowed to become the headmaster because people look down on them for how they spent much of their youth using magic to dig holes and make things out of dirt and just ended up smelling bad and missing class all the time and not being productive in general they even made golems out of shit sometimes, which falls under the domain of their magic IMO but nobody looks down on their magic ability (at this point, that is), and it is undeniable that their perspective on magic would be valuable to students of magic, so they were allowed to become headmaster anyway they ended up changing the way the school runs in crazy ways which I didn't decide yet Edited by yeti, Dec 19 2016, 04:03 AM.

they would probably have to be eccentric to want to become the headmaster of a school in Torka instead of going elsewhere, anyway, considering the level of their ability and how they had no interpersonal connections keeping them in Torka and how they can move through the ground without digging holes in order to get places very fast anyway I did not decide how fast they can move through the ground but it is very fast maybe not as fast as Gorika, maybe faster, no clue Edited by yeti, Dec 19 2016, 04:07 AM.
