at some point you get diminishing returns because people can only pay attention to so much of a screen at once but oh well, more better means more fun yay |

except that higher resolution means bigger video files and dear cods these would be way too big |

too big now perhaps but not too big forever the size of a video also depends on both the pixel resolution, and the screen's ppi. 80,000 pixels could end up being 8 inches on a super high def display. bigger resolutions aren't always better though, they just have the ability to display images in higher detail, which isn't always what an image wants to do. |

apparently definition refers to pixel resolution and not to ppi so i was using it wrong high definition apparently starts at 480p |

480p being hd i kno there are things like distance from the screen and stuff that affect how we see pixels like a phone would take less pixels to b properly "retina" than a laptop or a tablet |

i always assumed 480p and the like meant "480 pixels", but the p actually means progressive as opposed to interlaced the 480 part does mean 480 pixels though |

interlacing is trippy like how do they trick us into thinking it's not alternating lines of pixels i like how we had the same TV standards as japan tho i guess it's less relevant now w/HD urrything |
