it represents work mostly

if i had a million dollars i would probably put it in a bank and try to live off the interest and off the money by budgeting and living frugally

this is an immoral way to spend money because it supports a system that supports mismanagement of funds.

nope

money represents work. If you get win a million dollars in the lottery, that might represent a million hours of human work. If you spend that money on something like a mansion, then you're exchanging the million hours of work represented by the money you have with the million hours of work represented by the mansion. The mansion may have taken a million hours to build if you include the time spent building it, the time spent gathering and then refining the raw materials to build it, the time spent teaching the people who built it how to build it, the time spent to design it, and so on.

Spending a million dollars on a mansion is mismanaging the money from a global perspective, because the money would be better spent on smaller houses for more people, as you'd be able to maximize the number of people sheltered that way. That mismanagement of money then represents the mismanagement of work spent on creating the mansion, which could have been spent on creating the smaller houses instead.

that makes sense, we live in a capitalistic society that rewards us for hoarding our money and investing it wisely, meanwhile there are a lot of ppl who would need it more if i were to come into that much monayyyyyyy

i've seen ppl argue about giving money locally vs globally and what impact it would have tho i can't rlly find any good links on it

https://reg-charity.org/giving-locally-vs-globally-where-can-we-do-the-most-good/

this one is ok i guess

when you spend money on a mansion you're supporting work on mansions
when you save money and don't spend it, you're supporting work on nothing
when you have a bank hold your money, you're probably supporting banks.

I do not know too much about banks, but I am guessing that they are entities which exist to manage work, and that the way that they manage work is inappropriate. They're probably effective tools for moving money from the poor to the rich, and rich people mismanage work a lot by either spending their money on luxuries or by not spending large portions of their money.
