Money can represent many things. Money is used to cast a vote to the companies and products you want to see more of. Saving your money and living off the interest and investmens is not really immoral. You are supporting banks which can be a little evil but banks to lend money to people to let them statt businesses and things. Investments support companies and stuff and stuff. Capitalism is a double edged sword but it works extremly well. |

depends on what "extremely well" means. Its a step up from feudalism but idk if that's saying much in the greater scheme of things |

moneylenders are immoral because they exist for the purpose of moving money from the poor to the rich. For every business they help create, they just take money from ninety nine other people, and much of the time that business is going to be immoral anyway. Supporting banks isn't the main problem with living off interest though, the problem is that you have a huge amount of money that neither you or the bank is spending. To have a million dollars means a million hours of work was spent, and if you save the money instead of spending it, then you're wasting that million hours of work on nothing, which potentially means ending hundreds of lives living a comfortable life on the corpses of hundreds of people is immoral Edited by ragnarokio, Jan 28 2017, 10:58 AM.

if you have a million dollars and you live off the interest for 30 years and then die, then the million dollars never got spent for those 30 years if you spend the million dollars instantly, you can save 300 lives. therefor, by not spending the money for 30 years, those 30 years of life are built on the corpses of 300 people |
