Other than recruitment, do you have any ideas for building and growing Merridel?

kicking out people we don't like wont help things, we should only take such action as a result of rule breaking of our established law system.

that aside we might want to consider adding becoming a citizen mandatory to be part of the region instead of just hanging around here.

also id like to suggest the adding of specific noble titles as promotions or whatever like baron, count, duke etc.

Not too good of an idea. In every region in the game, only a minority of nations join the forum, less then 10%. Some nations just want a place to sit and answer issues alone. I have no problem with that.

I'm not opposed to the idea, even if only for RP purposes. Perhaps it's something the Master of Culture (whoever that might be) should look into.

We could look into who the best Masters might be?

Unfortunately, most people in NS are never going to be involved too much in the affairs of their region.

I think the key to generating activity and building up the region is for those already active in the Ministry of Culture to finally begin organizing the relevant cultural activities to attract people in the off-site community. Roleplaying and other cultural events could help make the region boom as well as attract in new members. Those events should be advertised primarily on-site, with the use of dispatches and region-wide telegrams, since those that participate in the off-site community will already know about them.

Furthermore, we should be looking towards expanding the political environment in Merridel. I would suggest tying membership in the World Assembly with citizenship, although that will be unpopular at first. If we want to build our community, we should aim towards creating a core of 'permanent' (as permanent as things in NS can be) members who either focus their activity in NS here or at least, this region is to them a significant part of their NS activity.

Of course, the monarch could always choose to award someone citizenship despite them not being a WA member.

Titles of nobility could also be a good way to reward active participation in the region as well as significant contributions by individual members.

Titles of noblility should only be for role play and I disagree that we should only award citizenship if they are WA members. They should be allowed to be citizens if they are WA or not.

WA membership as a requirement for citizenship would encourage a more active and loyal player base.

I disagree with the notion that simply dumping a nation in a region should be enough to grant you citizenship when you apply.

We shouldn't force somebody to join the WA if they want to become a citizen in our region. There's no guarantee that it will encourage a more active and loyal player base.

I agree that the Ministry of Culture should begin trying to attract people to the off-site community. A nation in the region isn't really helpful to regional growth without being on the forum, as this is where the recruitment, military, etc is.

However, why would people moving their World Assembly here help us? Yes, it shows the are dedicated, but they could also be dedicated WITHOUT requiring World Assembly membership. It just gets rid of the people who may be dedicated here, but have their World Assembly stuck elsewhere. What we could do, is make helping the region (actively participating in a civil service for x amount of time, participating in x amount of military missions, even make x amount of posts, etc) a requirement for gaining citizenship (or allow partial citizenship until a member actively helps.)

Titles of nobility maybe a good idea, but it depends on how we implement it.
